i think it would be much more interesting to see if "artsy" people would stop and observe some "art" on the side of a sidewalk. i wonder if they would recognize "art" without its artistic context.

not having my civil rights infringed makes me happy. i would bet that a lot of people here would get their panties in a wad if the government started to trim bits of the 1st amendment out of the constitution...myself included. i think it is a little nutty that people will argue for the preservation of some of our civil rights while they are ready to sign away others. if it was put into the bill of rights then i think it should be there to stay. period.

read the damn article...some of it will be used for human consumption, and there ARE reasons for the slaughter. i am a little concerned about the lack of reading comprehension and use of dramatic hyperbole by the folks at BB...

Charles Miller #37 and Champney #38 covered the most important bases, but I argue that the word "Theory" does not even apply to ID.

According to the National Academy of Sciences,

"Some scientific explanations are so well established that no new evidence is likely to alter them. The explanation becomes a scientific theory. In everyday language a theory means a hunch or speculation. Not so in science. In science, the word theory refers to a comprehensive explanation of an important feature of nature that is supported by many facts gathered over time. Theories also allow scientists to make predictions about as yet unobserved phenomena."

A theory is not a hunch, a hypothesis, or an idea. A theory is testable and therefore supported by empirical evidence provided via experimentation. Since ID cannot be tested, cannot be demonstrated with experimentation and cannot provide any empirical data, it cannot be a theory!!

While I support having an open mind about this sort of thing, in the words of James Randi: "Sir, there is a distinct difference between having an open mind and having a hole in your head from which your brain leaks out."

actually, it said "itinerary," which we all know is far from set in stone when traveling through o'hare in the winter. (i just got home 48 hours late coming from chicago...that was not in my itinerary, but ?fortunately? i can eat airplane "food")

but i feel that the real issue at hand is the fact that the TSA confiscated "prunes." anyone feeding their baby prunes should not only have the said prunes confiscated, but they should also be stripped of all parental rights brought up on charges of child abuse.

i think we have learned several things from this whole thing:

1. "angry sal" is crazy and should be fired from his job.

2. squashy is crazy and needs to get a job (hopefully one that is not a position of power).

3. a few out-of-control cops make all cops look bad...therefore all police officers should make it known that this behavior will not be tolerated by citizens, and more importantly, other officers.

4. 14 year old skateboarders and spontaneously moving cardboard boxes are the real reasons for the current yellow level on the national threat advisory

...yet another great example of our tax dollars at work. apparently those same dollars to not afford us the right of free speech...you can't call a cop "dude" unless you want to get thrashed?

what? outback has the "worst" food in america? i think not...look up Big Daddy's BBQ in Tulsa,OK for the best "worst" food in the world: "The Big Daddy." imagine a huge baked potato, with shredded cheddar, bacon, ranch, sour cream, bbq sauce, hot links, brisket, shredded chicken, and pulled pork...all surrounded by its own moat of butter. serving size: one potato. contains all four food groups: fowl, beef, pork, and dairy. we added up the calories on this baby and it tipped the scales at roughly 4000 calories. and this meal actually tastes good, unlike soggy fries from a crappy steakhouse. i think my heart actually stopped for a few moments on one of the two occasions i managed to finish this work of art.
