Wow, love those cans and I definitely agree that this is very reminiscent of Charles Kraft. My oil painter friend Jesse Edwards has gotten Charles Kraft to give him a crash course on doing those ceramics pieces and he has been doing so over the past year and half. What's pretty interesting is that the first piece he did was that of a crushed beer can, here's a link to several ones of his ceramic pieces... he's work is pretty controversial but he loves the criticism he receives for it:
