Government rules it's legal for government to spy on those not in government
June 20, 2008 3:35pm
then by definition this is no longer a country of freedom. though if they can retrospectively change the law, i doubt it will be hard to change the definition of freedom in the dictionary: "civil liberty, as opposed to subjection to an arbitrary or despotic government."
or at least change "as opposed to" to "in addition of"

Couple attached by a 15-feet string for 24 hours
June 3, 2008 10:41am
the couple they were inspired by were never more than 15 feet apart because they didn't want to be apart, not because they couldn't be.
and of course they meant it as a journalistic stunt.
Sit-down-and-shut-up "Christian" Ford dealership is run by a non-church attendee who is sorry about the ad

let's see what good ol' bucky has to say about this sort of thing.
"The Things to do are: the things that need doing, that you see need to be done, and that no one else seems to see need to be done. Then you will conceive your own way of doing that which needs to be done — that no one else has told you to do or how to do it. This will bring out the real you that often gets buried inside a character that has acquired a superficial array of behaviors induced or imposed by others on the individual."
We need a privacy bill of rights

this is the song we need to sing.
this is the idea we need to find concrete steps for.
this is how we fight the current reality, by going around them and making them obsolete.
Mazda destroys 4,703 shiny new cars worth $100 million
April 30, 2008 2:33am
those new mazda's are worthless anyhow. i used to have a 2006 mazda 3 hatchback. i hit a traffic cone and the resulting damage of a single orange rubber cone nearly totaled the car.
Harry Reid to Senate: pass the spy-on-Americans law already, I have to catch a jet to Davos
January 23, 2008 4:49pm
its a sad day when celebrities get more media coverage than imporant issues. When Paris hilton gets paid $100,000 to show up at a party, and my oceanography prof. can't get $800 for a refurbished HD tv to show the class the BBC "Planet Earth" series. Some kids are uninterested (especially in community college, not a shot a community college students, I'm one too!) and could use something other than a text book to get into science. ugh.
dear government and industry. you guys are selfish dicks.
where are the candidates that are real people? where are the candidates that are geniuses and specialists? if these people are the best that we can manage, then we're fucking doomed.
thats not the approach i want. i just wish people could be people. honestly the fact that gays can't get married is, completely unacceptable. for the people by the people. then i guess you have to accept that some people are dicks.
unfortunate and exciting times.

At $150,000 "free spirit" is the wrong name for it. It should be called "wealthy capitalist pretending to be a hippie in a wooden bubble."

dangerous territory. telling us to be weary of those who threaten free speech, then threatening free speech yourselves. i agree with number 6. it is as if one day you can proclaim the world to be flat, and then when irrefutable evidence that the world is round is made, you can go back, un-publish the post and say "we never said the world was flat"
very disappointed.
