HOWTO trick McDonald's into serving you "breakfast" at lunchtime and vice-versa

July 11, 2008 2:32pm

you guys are way too retarded to see the post ironic humour, these internets guys from teh future should have their own show, they're brilliant. Even the last bit where he says 'we're from the future, we can eat anything' and then plucks a sprig of box hedge and shoves it in his mouth, that shit is more poisonous than a micky D, it was a genius closing shot.

Stross's new novel: Saturn's Children, a late Heinlein homage

July 5, 2008 10:16am

Nearly finished it, it's fantastic; more intelligent than Heinlein ever was. I see you posted the UK cover rather than the US cover, why is this I wonder?

Unsurprisingly, the Venture Bros. love mid-century modern chairs

June 28, 2008 2:29am

Will you stop posting stories about fantastic Adult Swim animations. You can't see them if you live outside the US. These restrictive laws are infuriating and disgusting behavior on the part of your US government overlords and they make the baby jebus cry. Shame on your war on terror, Bush.

Large Hadron Collider probably won't destroy Earth

Sharon Stone suggests earthquake in China caused by "karma"

No matter how stupid she get's I won't be turning down a blowjob from Sharon Stone.

Sharon Stone suggests earthquake in China caused by "karma"

May 29, 2008 3:07pm

@17 she's obviously at some event and she's probably had one, maybe two glasses of champagne. But she's not drunk. Given that, I don't think we should be too down on her for saying something slightly stupid. As for banning her movies and having a sponsor distancing themselves from her, that's an over reaction and a bit less tolerant than she has been. She raises an important point of human rights abuses in China, the rest is the alcohol impeding her thought processes.

We could have colonized Mars with the money we spent on the Iraq war -- what else could we do?

Help me get reliable WiFi over 280ft

The easiest way is to move into your office. Install your sleeping bag under your desk. This is by far the cheapest option.

1972 Ideal "Bing Bang Boing" commercial

March 30, 2008 4:07pm

I also had a scaled down version of this and like Dougo I remember being supremely frustrated at having the balls bounce all over the place and everywhere but onto the next bongo thing.

UCCTOP Xeno Laptop for Video Editors, People Who Enjoy Knobs

February 28, 2008 12:26pm

I've done some projects with a couple of TV and video production companies and they both use final cut pro to edit video and sound, so that means they use macs for the video editing stuff, sony cameras for capture. I think there is a market if you need to do stuff away from the studio or editing suite. I can see broadcasters using this as it's cheaper than hiring suites to edit away from base, but storage capacity may be an issue.

It's Tractor Fight Thursday!

Or possibly 'When I get to the Green Building' by Electric Six.

It's Tractor Fight Thursday!

I am of the opinion that the soundtrack should be 'Keeping a Rendezvous' by Budgie.

Griffin Technology iPhone Headphone Adapter

September 19, 2007 10:14am

Wouldn't it just have been simpler to have a standard headphone jack in all apple products? This is why I won't be getting an iPhone when o2 starts selling them in November in the UK. I would want to use it with my Etymotic noise canceling earbuds but not with an adapter. Sorry Apple, you screwed up again.

"Antivirus" Lid Turns Soda Cans into Needle Containers

September 12, 2007 1:34pm

Well first off this is a European design which won a European design award. Sharps containers and biohazard waste bags in almost all EU countries are yellow.

True, cans are very thin and won't stop needles puncturing the thin wall. Also there is no internal flap so there is nothing to stop the inserted needle from turning round with movement and poking out through the hole.

Also the product is designed for Leur lock needles not the orange diabetic needles/syringe most widely used in needle exchanges in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.

Better than nothing at all and cheaper than a sharps bin but not much else going for it, unfortunately.
