Droog's Do Hit Chair, complete with sledgehammer

You'd have to be on the droogs to buy this thing.
Serial killers answer letters from guy pretending to be a 10-year-old
April 28, 2008 1:23pm
The sad thing about the Unabomber is that he walked the very line between genius and madness. His manifesto was the work of someone with a brilliant mind.
It is unfortunate that the only way he saw fit to spread his message was the use of violence.
Boise pizzeria: "Think Spring, Boing Boing Boing!"
April 9, 2008 6:23am
Being from New York, I probably wouldn't attempt to eat any pizza made in Ohio.
I certainly wouldn't eat it if they didn't know how to spell the word Pizzeria.
Sex offender ordered to keep warning signs on car and house
March 26, 2008 5:15pm
If we are to treat everyone as equal under the law, then anyone convicted of a crime should have to let everyone know about their crimes.
If you get caught stealing, should you have to notify all of your neighbors, and drive around with a sign that says "I am a thief"?
Mugabe opponents forced to eat campaign posters
March 26, 2008 8:41am
Going forward, all opposition campaign posters will be printed on rice paper.
Hypnotist thief on video
March 25, 2008 8:28am
I have never been hypnotized, but I saw a hypnotist perform once, and he told us in the audience that we could go under too. I definitely started to feel like I was going under. It was very strange, and then my friend next to me did something, and I snapped out of it.
Home improvement guy uses skills to sabotage neighbor's house
March 24, 2008 11:48am
The headline of the article mademe hope that he would've done awesome things like make all the doors open in the opposite direction. Make the faucet for the hose flush the toilet. Ringing the front doorbell would open the garage door. etc.
Father and son sport forehead tattoos

Of course people this dumb would be fans of Larry The Cable Guy.
Which giant corporation owns your favorite tiny organic food brand?
March 14, 2008 5:21pm
@ #18. Monsanto? Are you kidding me? Why should I have ill will towards Monsanto? They are THE most evil corporation on the planet.
They are responsible for Agent Orange and DDT (Couldn't believe that one company could make two things that bad, but that is just the tip of the iceberg). Involved in the Manhattan Project. Roundup Weed Killer. The Terminator Seed.
Roundup Ready Soy!!!! I eat soy because it is supposed to be healthy. But 60+% of the Soy in this country is Roundup Ready. Its been genetically modified so you can douse it in Roundup and it survives. I don't want roundup sprayed on my property, and I CERTAINLY don't want to eat tofu that has been sprayed with Roundup.
When they started genetically modifying food (Monsanto is the world leader in this) they claimed it would allow them to use less pesticides. Instead, the opposite has occurred. The plants are engineered so you can spray more chemicals on them.
Not to mention, GMO foods have the potential for environmental disaster. Nature operates best when there is polyculture. Different breeds of plants. GMO is creating monoculture. Once this happens, a pest or plague can wipe out everything, not just a small percentage of a crop.
Monsanto created Nutra-Sweet. The CEO of Searle (subsidiary) at the time was our good friend Donald Rumsfeld. No wonder it was legalized even the though the National Beverage association didn't want it to be. It is highly unstable about 85 degrees and breaks into two carcinogens.
Monsanto polluted a river with PCBs so bad that if you put a live fish in it within three minutes its skin peeled off and it died.
If you run a business where you sell Organic non-GMO foods, and this is how you make your money, what happens if a mile or so away there is a farm growing GMO MOnsanto plants? Well the GMO pollen blows through the air and cross-pollinates with your plants, and you are no longer allowed to claim your food is non-GMO, and you go out of business. And then to add insult to injury, a Monsanto lawyer tells you they are suing you for stealing their patents. Sound ridiculous? It has happened.
Just last week Monsanto was trying to make it illegal for a farmer selling hormone free milk to label it as such. That is just sick.
Why the anomosity towards Monsanto? how could you ask such a ridiculous question. (Unless of course you are just trolling).
There is so much more to hate about Monsanto then what I have written.

Record industry's 20 biggest, stupidest mistakes
March 13, 2008 6:37am
I agree with the Monkees being a great band. Sure they were a manufactured band, but eventually they found their own.
Michale Nesmith's solo work is great too. SOme of Shelley's Blues is just an awesome song.
I am very glad to see WILCO on the list. Boy did the label screw up that deal. See "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart" to see the whole debacle.

They we're gonna kill the one guy, but then he did the big shoe dance, and they all loved him after that.
Tiny Tim on Ironside
February 7, 2008 12:24pm
In response to The Specialist's question, he was not going into character at all. That was very much his real persona.
Howard Stern says that Tiny Tim was the best interview subject he has ever had. He was the most unique and interesting person he has ever met. He also said that if Tiny was still alive, a reality show about him would be so much better than any reality show ever made.
Tiny Tim on Ironside
February 7, 2008 12:21pm
I met Tiny Tim when I was in High School (around 1994). He was at my friend's neighbor's house. It was one of the most bizarre experiences of my life. He sang for us, and played his ukulele (covered with little kids stickers), which he kept in a paper bag by his side at all times. He smelled of perfume, and looked like his makeup was put on by a mortician. It was awesome!
I really should blog about it, since it is one of the best stories I have.
Modu: Tiny Phone Snaps into Other Gear
February 7, 2008 11:58am
Anyone remember the Pioneer LaserActive?
It was an LD player that had differnt modules you could plug in to it. A sega Genesis module, a Turbo-Grafx module, a karaoke module, and I think there were a few more.
TSA apologizes to "blogesphere" for arbitrary gadget screenings
February 7, 2008 6:19am
So if we post on their blog about how ridiculous, ineffective and counter productive the "war on liquids" is, that they will let us start bringing liquids back on planes?
Video of man firing 18 rounds from a pistol in 3 seconds
February 4, 2008 12:44pm
You really only need to fire one bullet, properly.
This is the reason someone like 50 Cent was shot 6 times but is still alive. If a guy is going to hold a gun sideways, he probably isn't going to hit the target.
Similarly, this guy fired 18 rounds, but is probably lucky if one hit the target.
"N Range" Indoor Target Range
February 4, 2008 7:31am
We used to have a nice little air gun range set up in the basement. The targets were hung in front of large traffic cones, stuffed with paper. The cones acted like a funnel, and caught all of the pellets.
Chocolate Biodiesel Experience
February 4, 2008 7:25am
I wonder what the exhaust smells like.
I heard that regular biodiesel, made from cooking oil, smells like french fries.
Camelbak Better Bottle
January 23, 2008 10:23am
It would be nice if I could buy just the cap, and use it on a steel bottle.
Statue of Liberty in science fiction
January 21, 2008 7:01pm
I think some of you may enjoy this photo I took the other day, of the Cloverfield poster, right smack dab next to another poster using the statue of liberty for a completely different purpose.
Laser-cut steel "flat" shelving you bend to suit
January 15, 2008 6:24am
"you simply bend out the die-cut sections corresponding to the sorts of shelving you desire."
How exactly does that work? It looks to me like you have three shelves that fold out. There is no flexibility there. Unless you decide you only want to fold down one or two of the shelves, (which would be stupid)and use that other space for a really expensive magnet board. I desire 3 longer shelves that are not ugly and don't cost as much.
I can get nice looking shelves at Ikea for 6 bucks a pop. I could buy 3 of them for 18 dollars, and then decide not to hang one or two of them.
€129? What is that like $4,000.00 US?
Perpetually punching peasant machine

This is one of my favorite Little Rascals films.
Lights Out: "turn your electricity off" event photos
October 21, 2007 9:46am
why do they suggest "at least one bulb"? Why not suggest as many as possible. Costco has these bulbs for next to nothing now. I got an 8 pack for 10.99, and then there was a LIPA (Long Island Power Authority) instant rebate of 8 dollars. So the 8 rang up at 2.99. I changed most of the bulbs in my house to CFLs, and the light output is bright and white, not at all like the harsh fluorescent I am used to.

Man steals 123 parking meters

Beaten to it, but I still insist that no man can eat 50 eggs.
Free poster with a dozen famous conservatives
October 4, 2007 6:50am
There is something seriously wrong with that site. It retains the last persons info on the page.
Perhaps one essential book for conservatives to read should be one on coding.
The Bush poster is free with any purchase. I guess they are having a hard time selling them.
I would've ordered one if the shipping was cheaper than 7 bucks, and if my personal info wouldn't be displayed for the world to see.
James Randi Calls Out Audiophile: I'm Sure the Crickets Will Sound Fantastic
October 2, 2007 7:45am
I own an AV Store, featuring mainly entry level high-end product, not crazy high end stuff.
With many cables, you will not hear a difference, but with video cables, especially HDMI, there are huge differences in their ability to actually carry a signal. Many cables simply don't work on anything over 4 or 6 meters. They break up. If you bend them they don't work right. Lots of problems.
National "Make Sure Your Friends and Family Are Actually Watching HD Content on Their HDTVs Week" Starts Today (Because I Say So)
September 27, 2007 7:00am
It doesn't help when it says HD on the screen during sporting events, even on the standard def channel.
I have many customers who have HD TVs and simply have the TV set to the wrong input, so they are watching it in standard def. I go to their house and flip to the component in, and they are shocked by the difference, and then they feel really dumb.
Nike's American Indian sneaker
September 27, 2007 6:46am
I stopped wearing Nike years ago. Not only because of their questionable business ethics, but also because I have wide feet, and their shoes are very narrow.
New Balance makes a nice wide shoe.

And the two gallons of Ethanol require 2.4 gallons of petroleum to produce.
Cyclists tend to be more health conscious and therefore eat foods which are less wasteful. A greasy hamburger requires a lot of fossil fuel to produce.
It is just a ridiculous argument to make. To try and talk anyone out of riding a bike, and driving instead, you'd have to be a real asshole.
