Cuisipro invents the better ice cream scoop
June 19, 2008 10:37am
Thanks #5. I was searching the deepest crevices of my mind trying to remember the name of the drug store.
Thifty was also in Phoenix, AZ. The scoops only cost a nickle if I recall correctly. For a family of five, this was the perfect inexpensive treat after a couple of hours at the public pool.

Tommy watch the generalizations :)
I agree with Tommy. I purchased one of these for my 8 year old daughter. Best "toy" ever. Gets tons of use and everybody can use it simply.
It's one of those products that is just right. I appreciate the simplicity.
Eco Button: Save Energy By Buying Something Unnecessary
February 4, 2008 6:48am
Wow. A little harsh.
I don't really see the difference between this and the one touch buttons on my logitech keyboard.
People like convenience. Some people are probably too ignorant to figure out how to do this using menus. If this encourages people to save energy, it's probably a good thing.
I suppose you don't use speed dial buttons on your phone either do you?
Eerily graceful Indian traffic merging
January 5, 2008 7:47pm
Arifin has is right. I live in Delhi (where traffic is much better than other cities but still scary).
I just took a trip up to Corbett Tiger reserve via car. You can be traveling at 60mph on a divide highway and have a cart pulled by a water buffalo "pull out" in front of you. Drivers constantly drive the wrong way down the divided highway, when truckers get tired of driving or are outside of towns where they are not allowed to drive during the day, they simply stop their trucks in one lane and park.
If people would just follow common sense the traffic wouldn't be as bad but when you have a bus line in Delhi (Blue line) that kills 2 or 3 people everyday and nothing is done, I don't see the traffic situation improving anytime soon.
Huge rat discovered in Indonesia

Maybe it's a Asia thing but we have them bigger than that on our residential compounds in New Delhi. The cats are terrified of them. The first time I saw one I thought it was a gigantic cat until I saw the tail. They are mean suckers.
Magazine subscription cards are a pack of lies
December 1, 2007 6:57pm
No experience with ebay magazine subscriptions but I've been using www.bestdealmagazines.com for years without a problem. They send out daily 20% notices so you can get magazines even cheaper than the free magazines that come with a 4.69 processing fee. Best free magazine that they have in Maximum PC. I figured for $4.69 what do I have to lose. Now I have a multi year subscription.
The wired subscription thing is really irritating. I signed up for automatic renewal but then get overdue payment notices. Apparently the subscription is automatically renewed but they don't automatically charge your credit card. If I didn’t like the magazine so much (and it wasn’t so cheap to subscribe), I’d get rid of it.

This guy already did this, cheaper and better. 6 LEDs 4 - 5 hours of light. Lots of design aspects conducive to the third world.
Get Your War On on Blackwater
October 5, 2007 7:29am
The government is using private security to keep the "official" body counts low.
You need to look at this from a State Department perspective.
The USG closes embassy's in war zones. In this case they are being required to keep the embassy open. Blackwater has lost 30 contractors to date. The Bureau of Diplomatic Security (or more appropriately the law enforcement branch of the bureau called the Diplomatic Security Service) which normally provides protection for USG personnel could never sustain those losses. It would also panic the foreign service who, mostly, view the DS Agents as colleagues.
Tasty frozen clown brains for sale at circus
September 7, 2007 9:57pm
You forgot to mention the price of these things.
I went to the same circus (kids and parents loved it - much to my surprise) in Phoenix. They include these souvenir cups so they can really jack up the price and don't sell the treats any other way. I think this was $18 or so.
Cotton candy that came with a cheap fabric hat was $12 if I remember correctly, could have been more. The prices were so outrageous that my wife and I couldn't stop laughing about it.
No friends yet.
