Frame Hanger: a piece of art you hang coats on

You could easily suspend from the wall so that it would still serve the same function.
It looks silly and out of place on the floor and leaning like that.
But, the idea is not all bad.

Privacy urinals

February 20, 2008 12:39pm

#8
I grew up with the trough urinals also, nobody seemed shy back then. It didn't bother me back then, but I wouldn't care for it much today.
Even when I was old enough to go into taverns, a lot of places still had the trough. Some places would just fill the trough with ice and it would serve to flush as it slowly melted.
I also remember the strange scenes at Dead shows, especially at Shoreline. Set breaks would find thousands of people crowding into the bathrooms. Entering that confined space with its condensed energy was always an experience, more so on mind altering substances.
I'd imagine that a great deal of time is lost to the "bashful bladder" experience. As both space and time become increasingly harder to come by, advancements of this sort would seem worthwhile.

UK farmer built illegal castle behind haybales

February 1, 2008 5:31pm

Rules aren't for everybody obviously. Castle dwellers do deserve such special consideration.
Like those people that commute to work alone in their cars like everyone else, but aren't burdened with waiting in long lines to enter the freeway like everyone else when there is a perfectly vacant car pool lane to use.
Robert Fidler undoubtably deserves special treatment, and I hope that he gets it.
And, I hope that a Walmart super center decides to do the very same thing on the adjoining property.

Someone mentioned that the superball was unsafe. Does anyone remember those damn clacker things?
Two hard (very) plastic balls hanging from strings and controled by a ring that you held between your fingers. You would swing them up and down and they would collide and bounce off each other until someone got badly hurt, or something was damaged.

Stanley actually makes these in two sizes, regular, and large. I got one of the smaller ones for working with concrete pavers, it's pretty handy. I thought that they were a little pricey at @ $30.
