"That is, of course, if we had coffee-spitting fetish DVDs in the US."
I know it has already been stated but I think Rule 34 needs to be reiterated. I am entirely sure it's out there if you look.... not that i have...

don't forget British Telecom. They have different 'options'. The cheapest one is 5gb/month. All come with the delight of Bittorrent throttling meaning that bewteen 7am-10pm your bittorrent download speed is maxed at 20kb/s. There is a way around this, but then you immediately come up against the bandwidth limit.
Telewest may have gone downhill since Virgin took it over, but it still offers unthrottled Internet with no monthly bandwidth allowance - This puts it streets ahead for me.

I tend to have bluemars.org, minimalist ambient music on when working etc. Plus I listen to cryosleep when I go to sleep.
Wonderful link, thanks very much.

Found this site recently, had some great stations. I find looking for good internet radio a pain so this was gold.

@ AFO: from wikipedia:
"The strips[little nemo], along with most of the rest of McCay's works, fell into the public domain worldwide on January 1, 2005, 70 years after McCay's death (see Copyright and the EU's Directive harmonizing the term of copyright protection for details). The complete set of Little Nemo strips is available in a single volume from Taschen: Little Nemo 1905-1914 (ISBN 3-8228-6300-9), leaving out only the later revival from the 1920s."
So as far as I can see it is in the public domain, so it has always struck me as peculiar that it's not available on the web. I've searched extensively over the past few years.

I'm always excited to see Mccay's work as I owe my first name to Little Nemo in Slumberland.
I was under the impression that some of Mccay's works like Nemo had entered the public domain. Is there any reason they cannot be released as a free e-book onto sites like Gutenberg?
I would love to see more people aware of little Nemo, it's a beautiful series.

If you've had such a bad experience of Virgin (who I am guessing used to be NTL in London) then I can't blame you - However it seems like a case of 'out of the frying pan, into the fire' transferring from Virgin to BT?!
My experience of Telewest/Virgin in Bristol, UK has been fantastic. I have 4mb broadband and have no problem getting the promised speeds, specially with services like Bittorrent which is something I often use.

A common experience of BT then.
My mum had to threaten BT with Ofcom to get them to do something about her appalling broadband speeds. I can strangely confirm that after she waved the Ofcom beating stick her broadband suddenly increased by between 5-10x.
Have you thought about alternative services like Virgin? Among other things it means you can get an Internet connection which isn't throttled and doesn't have 'data' plans.
Radiohead downloads were just a tactic to boost CD sales?

It's as if some people won't be happy until bands give away all their work for free in flac.
Radiohead made a great offer, I made use of it. I happen to have a policy of listening to music encoded at a minimum of 192kbps but after having listened to their album I found it perfectly acceptable.

While this all seems very inspirational, the fly in the ointment is the thought that to some this was simply another *chan raid. If you don't know what that is check out 711chan.org.
