K2 Porcupine Light makes flashlights even more blinding
April 15, 2008 9:10am
for anyone looking for a high-powered tactical-grade flashlight i would suggest surefire http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/co_disp/displ/pgrfnbr/16/sesent/00
i own a G2 and will probably be purchasing the E2D soon. They are incredibly powerful and seem far more reasonably priced. (the 6p defender appears to be the same as the flashlight in this post but about half the price) They are incredibly rugged too. Ive used mine as a hammer and underwater. I really had no need to do either of those things... i just wanted to stress test it. sweet.

Disneyland's plans to change It's a Small World ires fans
March 5, 2008 3:40pm
ok so where to start...
@ HereticGestalt. im not some schmuck working for disney. im a college student living in boulder, co studying math. mightymouse has been my name on boingboing and other various realms of the internet since i was a youngster as mightymouse was a childhood hero of mine.
@Teresa Nielsen Hayden / Moderator. i dont think the story implies its taboo to support america. the first few comments is where i get that from. i suppos id have to agree with jason (29) on this one. his feelings are right on par with mine.

March 5, 2008 9:27am
Only in America is it considered taboo to support your own country. No... the people of new guinea definitely need to be represented.

Sim card data extractor gadget
February 21, 2008 1:27pm
While i have found myself wishing i had one of these, it had much more to do with my desire to be Jason Bourne... exactly like Jason Bourne, and much less to do with any desire to spy on significant others.
Some Flickr users wary of a MSFT takeover
February 4, 2008 6:29am
I'm sorry... could someone here give me a really good reason why it would be so horrible if MS owned flickr? as long as flickr remains true to its roots and continues to allow people to post images in CC i guess i fail to see the reason MS is so dangerous. Heck, MS prolly gives just as much back to the community as google or apple.

Greenpeace Takes Electronics Companies to Task, But Are They Fair?
November 28, 2007 9:06am
As tainted as Greenpeace is, i have trouble taking anything they say with little more than a grain of salt. As Ogvor said, they convinced Zambia not to accept genetically modified foods on the basis that it may be dangerous to the health of those eating it. You would think some food would be better than none at all. Greenpeace's view? Better to starve to death than eat modified crops.
Driver tasered for refusing to sign traffic ticket
November 28, 2007 2:04am
and you must have missed the part where the officer pulls out the taser BEFORE the civilian turns around and starts to walk away with his hand in his pocket. That cock bite walks back to his patrol car, puts down his clip board, and takes out his taser without thinking twice. It is obvious he is using the taser as a means of putting the citizen in his place rather then as a means of self defense.
Driver tasered for refusing to sign traffic ticket
November 27, 2007 3:21pm
I love the idea that tasers are just as harmless as night sticks and pepper spray. The UN certainly seems to think tasers are bad enough to say something about it
http://wcbstv.com/national/taser.torture.united.2.595058.html
I'm sure pepper spray and clubs can cause just as much harm, but even paper cuts can eventually result in death. Lets try to prioritize appropriately.
Driver tasered for refusing to sign traffic ticket
November 27, 2007 2:14pm
yeah but
stressful circumstances + pepperspray = more stress
stressful circumstances + taser = death?
Driver tasered for refusing to sign traffic ticket
November 27, 2007 1:35pm
how much bodily harm could that guy possibly be imposing on the cop with his back turned? honestly...
to be fair he doesnt crack his head open.... that should prolly be changed.
Laugh Out Loud Cats: The True History
November 26, 2007 1:34am
i can never tell if these posts are serious or one elaborate joke put on by the boingboing staff. How could a comic writer in 1912 have possibly used "pwned" in its proper meaning of the word?!!??!1?

Video of man tasered to death
November 15, 2007 12:32pm
i can say with absolute certainty that i do not enjoy watching these movies. However, to be an informed citizen and rightly justified in my opinions i feel obligated. Its horrific and shocking but that is exactly what needs to be done. People need to realize that the use of tasers is horrific and shocking (no pun intended) and needs to stop.
Zune 2 Install: Oof

Cereal Killers -- forthcoming book of spooky funny cereal box art
October 16, 2007 11:15pm
idk... this doesn't really point out the decline of cereal box art as much as i had hoped it would. I feel like this is more of a perversion of cereal box art and would be just as relevant at any other point in time.

as a total bike dork i will refrain from going into the finer details of this post but i have one tip to add. In the winter, when i really want to wear pants and keep myself warm, i wear a rubber band around my right ankle. When i get on my bike i put the rubber band over my pant leg to keep the fabric out of the gear. I just find it to be a quick, easy, and cheap way to save my pants from total destruction.
