Sonic is quite possibly the greatest ISP in the history of the world ;^) I chose them after the nightmare of using SBC DSL in the late 90s owing to unanimously favorable word of mouth in Santa Rosa, where I live. Tech support is awesome, no matter how technical the question, and I couldn't begin to tell you the last time my connection went down -- not this year, nor last, nor possibly even 2005. I just moved and despite quoting 5-7 days to have DSL set up and running on a new phone number that I ordered the day before from AT&T, the whole thing was done in 2 business days. If Dane and his crew are in a market, they will do it right or not at all. I'm betting they can succeed where GOOG hasn't.
