Lenovo's IdeaPad U110 barges into arty high-end subnotebook party

April 30, 2008 7:03am

Widescreen display, no optical drive..WTF? Widescreen is inferior in every way except for watching DVDs, which this thing can't do.

Kevlar shoes encourage natural gait

April 24, 2008 1:49pm

@UMGREGO2: Thanks for trying to help, but no that isn't the same shoe. It appears that Rob copied the image from the referenced kk.org review, but I have no idea where he got it. Maybe it's an old discontinued line or something? Watev.

What is that blue suede shoe pictured? It's not anything I can find on the vivobarefoot.com website.

Datto 500 NAS stores your data off-site, too

April 15, 2008 11:24am

>NAS that continuously backs up your data to the company's off-site servers.
That'll put a dent in your available bandwidth, I bet.

Ariete SteakHouse Indoor Grill

February 20, 2008 7:47am

I guess the name "Meat Toaster" didn't test so well with the focus groups.

Star Wars Toys That Were Not to Be

February 14, 2008 9:35am

The death star grill was ahead of its time. All of us 70's kids had to grow up first for it to find its audience.

Raccoon takes cat's food: video

February 13, 2008 12:52pm

It's a good thing for Mr. Raccoon that that cat is de-clawed.

February 12, 2008 1:15pm

That thing is so phallic it was most likely intentional.

PUMA "Glow Rider" Glow-in-the-Dark Bicycle

January 31, 2008 7:39am

Besides how brightly it glows, I wonder how long it glows for. Most glow-in-the-dark stuff doesn't last long after the light source is removed.

Yamaha's Giant Fish Tank Trailers

January 24, 2008 9:59am

I wonder how many times those same 20 fish will keep biting the lures before they wise up.

Finally, a pocket scale that is likely to be stolen when left unattended!

Spyderco Byrdrench is Literal Multitool

January 22, 2008 7:29am

The detachable knife is a great idea. I had to give up on my multitool several years ago when security mania took over the country. Here in DC you pretty much can't go indoors with a pocket knife in your possession.

Arantix Bicycle with Carbon Fiber Lattice Frame

January 9, 2008 8:00am

It might be an engineering triumph, but who wants a bike that looks like it was made out of lace doilies?

Suburban family discovers hidden room filled with toxic mold and a taunting note

January 6, 2008 9:46am

The bank that resold the house is sooo screwed. Selling the house "as is" doesn't relieve them of their legal obligation to disclose all known defects.

Love Mattress Prototype by Mehdi Mojtabvi

January 3, 2008 7:37am

They'd have to make matching "love sheets" to go with it though.

Pancakes in a pressurized can

December 31, 2007 1:26pm

Wasn't this posted a month or two back? I still say they should have called it Batter Splatter.

Blackwater wishes you a very mercenary Christmas

December 28, 2007 11:45am

#11: You're thinking of public corporations. Blackwater is privately held by southern right-wing religious fundamentalists. Think "War on Christmas" types.

Well, in the police officer's defense, the document says the man was taking "pohotos" which as everyone knows are much more dangerous than "photos", or even the original submitter's "photo's".

November 27, 2007 9:49am

umgrego2: No, I did click through and saw that they call it a two-sided bag. But look at it - it is clearly a one-sided bag with the solar panel on the inside. Calling it two-sided doesn't actually make it so.

"I expect you'd use it to maintain the charge on these devices as you moved around during the day."

Not with the solar panel on the wrong side of the bag.

Charlie Stross on Japan

November 5, 2007 7:33am

The reason the Japanese knock down the house and build a new one is that houses aren't built to last in Japan. Construction is very shoddy compared to other first-world economies.
