The detachable knife is a great idea. I had to give up on my multitool several years ago when security mania took over the country. Here in DC you pretty much can't go indoors with a pocket knife in your possession.

The reason the Japanese knock down the house and build a new one is that houses aren't built to last in Japan. Construction is very shoddy compared to other first-world economies.
