Clock-y, steam-y jewelry and such

Alas, many of the old guard watchmakers have left us. Maybe I should be thinking about this differently - that this jewelery is a monument to watchmakers past, right?
What happened to those 10,000 partial movements, anyway? \m/

Sorry, 'brooch'! Demonstrates my watch-tool super geek mindset....

This trend is KILLING me.

I am a watchmaker. Vintage parts can be so difficult to find. Sure, I can make a screw or cut a new balance staff or stem on a lathe but it's not economical and some vintage freaks eschew custom parts replacements as not being a true restoration.

I do like the aesthetics, I just wish the people making these pieces would think about those of us out there that might really need a replacement train bridge for a Bulova 10AN before they turn it into a broach.
