That Violet Blue thing

July 2, 2008 2:15am

Are we allowed to speculate about why this might have happened?

I doubt it was anything personal against Violet Blue. Boing Boing has some pretty big advertisers. They want to make their advertisers more comfortable by linking to less "adult" content.

Worst drinks in America

June 3, 2008 5:46pm

Am I the only one that seems to have trouble eating enough healthy calories in the day? I drink a lot of fruit juice because without it some days I wouldn't hit 1500 calories. Fruit juice seems like the healthiest, high calorie thing I can eat.

New Zealand's DMCA is as good as it could be -- I was wrong!

April 10, 2008 3:54am

I'm guessing New Zealand was pressured by the forces of economic imperialism to pass something like the DMCA. Congratulations to them for standing up for IP rights.

Is this type of copyright legislation good enough for the powers that be? If so, it gives me hope for the rest of the world.

Videos of people smoking salvia divinorum

January 24, 2008 6:33pm

Salvia is incredibly strong. You really wouldn't think it would be legal.

In my opinion, the only other legal drug that does anything worthwhile is kratom. It's a stimulant and a neurological opiate -- it's chemically different from poppy, but it still hits the opiate receptors in your brain.

So in low doses, it makes you more focused, like coffee, only less jittery. And if you drink too much kratom tea, you get happy.

http://www.getkratom.com has the best prices on the net.

Come on, throw a nofollow on that link, these people don't deserve the pagerank.

Netgear's tiny Network Attached Storage RAID -- just right for a home entertainment/data server?

December 26, 2007 11:22pm

Seems like a pretty good device, but it's a lot more money than buying the hard drives and building a SAN yourself. Also less upgradable. I'm sure premade SANs will become much economical over time though.
