St. Martins published it, after asking me to write it. I interviewed more than 40 experts, including scientists, historians, psychologists, and many participants in The Secret, and I did a lot of original research - meaning reading a lot of stuff from Wattles' era, including newspaper accounts and socialist party member lists (Wattles and daughter Flo were members of the party, despite their failed quest to be rich). He was very low on the totem pole in the new thought movement, which is where the Secret really comes from. I found also that physicists, including those in the Secret do not believe that physics proves that the LOA is "true."
