The milk in bags thing is pretty common in Canada and all over the world really. Hard containers just make it easier for the manufacturer and distributor and the costs are passed along to the end consumer / milk drinker.

Now, back to the chandelier, check this one out http://tinyurl.com/2why5e they had it at an event in Toronto last week. I find it more pleasing to the eye than the jug thing - although, just like an above poster mentioned, no idea how easy i would get tired of the damn thing if i had it at home and had to see it daily.
