actually, the font at the top looks pretty cool when you zoom in. It sure isn't readable in any traditional sense, but kinda looks like an alien alphabet when you zoon in on the vectored results.

@Halloween Jack: this won't work on an iPhone, but I use TCPMP as my media player on Windows Mobile 5, and it has a mode in it's audio settings to do stereo join or mono output to either stereo channel which would work well for you.

I'm always willing to recommend spending other people's money: Aren't the new Roomba models supposed to do a much better job of isolating the vacuumy bits from the roboty bits so they don't have this problem any more?

I have a first gen Roomba I've had for about a year. I'm fairly happy with, but I need to run it much more often to keep up on pet hair than I would with a regular upright vacuum. And ever month or so I take it out to the garage and give it a good blowing out with the air compressor. That stops all the funky backward dancing.

you could try taking out the existing logic board, put it in your freezer for about 10 minutes and see if it works briefly before heating back up. that would at least confirm that it's worth $80 to get a replacement.
