Jim, the designer here. Yes, you are correct, it started out in 2006 as a concept and has been in a few shows. They are now being mass-produced (in China, of course), and will be for sale this summer through Kikkerland. They are introducing it at ICFF over the weekend. If you're in NY, come on by! -Jim

Check out the restrooms on the next international flight. I have seen similar security tapes attached to various access panels. Now I'll have to look out for them everywhere. I knew it would end would come wrapped in adhesives.

The Dutch Tivoli office had a PAL case contest last year. They asked people to submit concepts for a case that the PAL would fit inside. The shortlisted entries toured the consumer-electronics show circuit in different shows worldwide.

The graphics work because the time that they are open never overlap between am and pm.
Look at your watch: Oh it's 10:30
Look at the chart at 10:30
They still make you go huh? though. Is it that we are used to having these things overlap between am and pm?
I agree- an 'opening' and 'closing' tag next to the number would probably help.

You also get an RFID tag when going through the airport in Hong Kong. It's a large sticker that they put on the outside of the bag, and is easily taken off.
I still have one or 2 around if anyone is interested in dissecting it.
