Why split into two files? This creates a major point of confusion.
The two documents don't mention the spilt, and the second file ends without a closing page. It's therefore impossible to know if the last page of the second file is indeed the last page, or if there is a third, missing, file.
If the split was due to wanting to use free file hosting, it was a bad save. Mediafire is a spammy site with pop-unders and an intentionally confusing interface. It's a weird choice for do-it-yourselfers.
The net result a bad first impression to an otherwise informative and interesting mag. I nonetheless look forward to future issues!

Awesome. I, like totally, think "PROGRESS" is totally a better tagline that "HOPE". For real!
Hope is good to feel, progress is great to achieve.

Yeah, the ads OVER the video are annoying. I stopped watching when the second one bounced on. Not the solution.

Mark, I saw you at the Felt Club event in LA this past Sunday, and I felt compelled to point you out to my significant other. "That's him," I whispered nodding toward you, and pointing at volume 10.
I considered this pointing-out the rest of the day, and how and you and the other BBers have entered into my awareness. I hesitate it to call it celebrity or famous, but there are increasingly aspects of both.
The celebrity aspect was indicated when my significant other asked why I didn't go say hello to you. I told her I say "hello" about ten times a day on the BB server log.
Her question made me consider the act of introducing oneself to people you know something of, but who know nothing of you. Why would I do such a thing? I receive your creative output daily, need I also need to interrupt your conversations with people you do know only to say "HI! I know who you are! You're cool!"
No, I don't need to do that. It would be rude, pointless, embarrassing. But celebrities have to deal with exactly that, all of the time. They have to deal with strangers who feel compelled to speak to them, to smell their odors, to enter their space and absorb their magic.
It could be web-borne celebrity engenders a more respectful admiration, or maybe you're not yet famous enough. Perhaps like Oprah, you should be on every cover?

Not sure the animated BBTV logo is needed every time you come back to Xeni. Trying going with a still logo after the first use of the animation.
Surprised by the lack of actual tank video footage! Here's one be asploded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XZTZmzM-Kw
Lousy keypad design for automatic curtains

Macegr,
Your post is one of the simplest examples of what I term "Standard Idiot," as every sentence in your post is factually and/or conceptually wrong.
Sentence #1: Likely Factually Wrong. The curtains in every hotel I have ever visited do in fact move horizontally, and certainly the type with both solid and sheer curtains move horizontally. The curtains in question were likely covering a very large window and thus making motorized controls desirable due to weight.
Sentence #2: Absolutely Conceptually Wrong. You claim to quickly perceive the meaning of poorly designed interfaces and information, and through that perception you claim fellowship with those who also claim they "get it", as if seeing through bad design is an intelligence test, while in fact by stating that you don't see the problem you do fail what test there is.
Sentence #3: Just Utterly Stupid. While equating an iPod purchase with dislike of poor design is reasonable, you no doubt are unable to make that connection. You simply do not understand what design is, what the goals of design are, and why those who do understand design are always flaming your stupid comments.

Lousy keypad design for automatic curtains

The basic problem here is that the buttons are curtain "playback" controls, and are oriented contrary to our experience with playback controls. We expect start/stop/reverse to be oriented left-to-right, not up-down.
The same controls, and lame labeling, oriented left-to-right would be immediately understandable to more people.
