Denial-of-coffee attacks affect networked coffee-maker

June 18, 2008 2:47am

I should own up to considering this machine. However I don't think it was anything like $2999 here in Europe.

I went for a Gaggia one instead which can be programmed offline the old fashioned way, using a jog dial and LCD display.

Dyslexia in alphabetical languages "evaporates" when learning Chinese for some people

April 9, 2008 4:30am

We are lighting and retail display manufacturers and would happily make these up for you any way you like. I don't want to spam so not sure how to establish contact here.

A nice stainless steel or anodised aluminium version would be good, presumably something to match the light and power accessories.

Talking About AT&T's Internet Filtering on AT&T's The Hugh Thompson Show

January 23, 2008 12:40am

Having read the comments I was surprised how polite and innocuous this was. I also thought that Hugh Thompson (in spite of seeming to have a really weird voice) handled it really well, responding quickly with some cogent analysis.

Obviously there isn't a culture of open debate in the same way that perhaps we have here in the UK. Listening to the BBC you are constantly bombarded with journalists asking BBC management awkward questions, to the point of it seeming like excessive navel gazing.

Last DC power in NYC to shut down

November 16, 2007 3:00am

What was the direct current being used for? Apparently elevators and sprinkler systems, but those buildings must have had AC for everything else, most stuff needs AC these days, other than straightforward incandescent lighting.
