Target Pulling Experimental Gameplay Project T-Shirts?
March 27, 2008 10:08am
Well that's a damn shame. I'll have to scour the local Targets for some, because I'll be damned if I'll buy them from Hot Topic or Urban.

Nice typo in the intro screen. "Yo" suck at typing, apparently.

Aw hell, now where am I gonna buy an $80 foam pillow, a useless massage-o-rama chair, and RC helicopter all in one place with no shipping?
Video: Purported Dell Call Center Employee Calls Customer "Little Girl"
February 15, 2008 12:21pm
#2, not sure about Dell, but no beeps gave away when our calls were monitored. Many calls were recorded, and a few from each tech agent were pulled each month to review. Kept you on your toes more when you didn't know they were listening.
I actually kinda wish my very last call had been recorded, when I told the customer to call back because the Internet was full and hung up my headset for good.

Dubious. I've been a call center monkey, and even in the depths of my utter hatred for my employer, I never would have done something so incredibly stupid. I've known people with deathwishes in that industry, and even then they wouldn't go to this extreme.
Cop roughs up teenage skateboarder on video
February 13, 2008 2:19pm
Rampant, I hope you are put in a position of mortal danger, and forced to rely on law enforcement to save your sorry ass.
There are bad people and good people in every profession, including doctors, teachers, and yes, law enforcement. The cop in question was a bad one. Unfortunately, they are almost always the ones that you hear about.

Neat house uses water tank to hold up roof, cool interior

"So they used a beautiful, natural, functional, economic material. And...?"
I'm not saying it's not natural, functional, OR economic. (Rah-rah for them for the innovative design.) Just that it looks like crap.

ZZMEEY, have you ever played one? The crux of the game is forming and maintaining relationships, albeit over a digital interface.

Link is busted.
The film looks really interesting, and as a gamer I will definitely check it out. I am curious to see how much coverage is given to the "horror stories" (such as the man who admitted his addiction made him want to kill himself). I'm thinking that it will be handled with a bit more sensitivity than the standard "Oh my God, look at the freak nerd addicts" tack.
Col-Pop: Fast Food Drink Caddie for Snacks

I wish we had one of these in Columbus.
Octopuss Studios' "Silverfish" Aquarium
February 1, 2008 8:30am
With a proper cleanup crew (snails, etc) it wouldn't be that difficult to get most of the algae issues under control. It'd be quite difficult to siphon clean the substrate, and it'd be terrible for marine life as the manufacturer mentions, so it's pretty much irrelevant to my interests.
Pretty though. With the right residents it could be quite interesting.

Grandmother arrested at McDonald's drive-thru for not pulling car forward
January 25, 2008 6:37am
If you were a customer at that establishment and saw that someone was disregarding posted parking regulations for an extended period of time, and the police officer directly observing it did absolutely nothing, what would you say?
Wouldn't that be cause for yet another hyper-reactionary post from those proclaiming that law enforcement ignores things right under their nose?
Seriously, there is no pleasing people when cops are involved. From what I've gleaned from both stories, this old bat wouldn't move her car, the officer did the best he could peacefully, got torqued up and arrested her. Good for him. And maybe next time she'll move the damn car.
World's largest captive python

Terry, I've seen her too. She's beautiful. It's interesting that the plaque in her enclosure identifies her diet as pigs when, in fact, she eats rabbits. I thought this was quite unusual (I'd think the hooves would be harder to digest), and my only thought is that the diet was misidentified to avoid upsetting younger visitors.
Vegetarian survival kit

If I'm gonna die in the midst of a collapsing society, it's damn certain I'm going down with the taste of meat in my mouth.
10+ years of being a vegetarian has ended just recently for me, and I haven't looked back, except to look for more bacon.

"You have to feel sorry for the kid, as soon as the blush of youth fades she'll slit her wrists. She's pretty, in an ordinary way. But she is not going to age remarkably well."
I'm not sure where the "feel sorry" part comes in here. I'd just consider that thinning the herd.

Lancome "Le Magnetique": Magnetic Nail Polish

Sad news: it appears that it's already begun selling out in Nordstroms. The two stores in my area that I called both said they had sold out and would not be getting any more in as it was a seasonal color. So it looks like tough luck for the nerdy glam girls, at least in Columbus.

Something about the constant use of the term "the emos" just grates on me incessantly.
Really, the term just needs to die.
