So let me get this straight. You Americans believe that the best way to hold your government accountable is through the threat of gun nuts able to do assassinations?

I lived in America for a few years, but decided to leave when I realised what a dangerous combination widespread gun ownership and lack of basic education makes.

I predict that the Mythbusters team will completely fail to demonstrate anything useful about this problem. The problem is that they don't ask enough basic questions about the meaning of the problem because they are too gung ho about getting out there and building cool stuff.

The original problem (in any of its various forms) is too ambiguous to have a single answer. The Mythbusters team will fail to spot this, and rush ahead with one particular interpretation of the problem. Because that's what they always do.

It's a very disappointing show.

Examples and explanations? Try watching the recent episode of their "Bullshit" show entitled "Nukes, Hybrids and Lesbians". It's typical trash TV: it panders to a whole bunch of prejudices, while trampling all over any rational debate. If these are supposedly intelligent people making this show, I can only suppose they chose the particular set of non sequiturs they use on this show for a particular reason, and a very nasty one at that.

The world could use a lot more atheist libertarians who are *not* like them at all.

NBC have made a US version, with some of the same cast. This can't turn out well.

Anyone notice the similarity to hacking software in this prank? And then would the fact that the prank seems to be replicating make it a software virus? Methinks the cheerleaders need to take courses in software verification and computer security.
