Video: "I Love My Mac" Music Video

March 18, 2008 12:49am

It's the Apple Kool Aid that the pc nerds find most irritating. They have this amazing mythology, which I'm sure makes the envy of the rest of the IT industry.

But to my point:

I think Apple far too often take advantage of their relatively secure fanbase, and release shoddy and poorly tested updates, and products with catastrophic hardware faults with unacceptably poor customer service when the owner of a an extended warranty unit returns for the umpteenth time for repair.

In short, I think Apple (and their resellers) in many ways is it's own worst enemy, as they often stymie the good work that they do.

The proof is, as they say, in the pudding. Generally speaking, Apple make okay puddings. The packaging is a bit flashier than the product. More bang and less wizz please Apple.

Good on the crazy lady for making the dorky video! With this kind of product love, you've gotta be sending the lady a present Apple!

PATRICK NIELSEN HAYDEN: Your comment is absolutely spot on and sheds more light on the discussion than just about anyone else.

@ Dave Hecht: Point well made!

I don't understand the negativity and the observations made from the first 6 pages of the damn thing? It's hard to make any other observations other than it's beautifully drawn and coloured given that the story hasn't even begun to be told?

Terry Pratchett's "Making Money" -- economic comedy

I too think Terry's work is deserving of a good rap. Everything that I have read by Terry Pratchett has rewarded me with such a sense of fun and narrative and just a deep joy for the experience of reading and being immersed in that world it's hard not to be breathless advocate for them! I have read all his books (with the exception of making money, but I will be remedying that later today) at least twice and in most cases 3 or 4 times.

I have a signed copy of pyramids which is amongst my most treasured possessions. I saw him speak when he toured many years ago, and I have a huge amount of respect for his writing - it's too easily dismissed as fluff, when it really does delve a little deeper than most would credit.
