Remixing the London police's anti-photographer terrror posters

March 5, 2008 8:46am

Awesome. I hope people print these out and put them up so the less-internet-savvy crowd (who are probably less aware of all the recent civil liberties issues) can see them.

Minimalist end-table with smart bookspine saver

March 4, 2008 10:33am

Good idea. I'd refine it by making the spine-saver smaller, and mounted to the vertical support like a weird shelf. That would leave floorspace at the bottom - a good place for a to-read pile, or to leave bare and uncluttered.

Does famous designer read CRAFT?

March 3, 2008 12:04pm

Sure looks like a ripoff to me. They're even in the same color scheme. I like the CRAFT ones better anyway.

Kids learn to flatter around 4

January 29, 2008 6:47am

@ Charliekkendo: I was thinking the same thing - the kids aren't thinking ahead, they're just copying adults who compliment the kids.

This Is Not My Beautiful Cup

January 28, 2008 6:26pm

You'll set this cup down for a second and it will be cleaned up into the garbage by a well-meaning custodian.

Bright lights cause big sneezes

January 16, 2008 8:17pm

I can also sneeze from looking at a bright light or at the sun. It seems to be the change in brightness that does the trick - sometimes I have to repeatedly eclipse the light source with my hand, moving the edge of the shadow back and forth across my eyes, to make it work. Some times it helps if I look to the side of the light source, letting the light enter my eyes at an angle. Other times it won't work at all.

I had no idea there were people who could sneeze from IMAGINING a bright light!

"Twins who accidentally got married" is probably an urban legend

January 15, 2008 6:24pm

Blood tests before getting married? I thought that was just for when you stopped using condoms!

TSA to punish fliers for facecrime

January 2, 2008 1:10am

Considering what happened here in Vancouver, I think there's a significant chance the person with Aspergers would get killed.

Video of man tasered to death

November 23, 2007 6:18pm

@ Slammer: Thank you for posting a translation. But I don't think what he said necessarily means he was insane at the time. I think he just knew no-one could understand what he was saying, so he was speaking his frustrated thoughts aloud.

@ Violet: For sure. A sandwich and coffee would have done a world of good.

My thoughts go out to his mother.

Robot controlled by moth brain

November 23, 2007 4:53pm

(actually I think it was supposed to be a robot fishBOWL)

Robot controlled by moth brain

November 23, 2007 4:52pm

One step closer to my boyfriend's vision of a fish in a fishtank with robot legs that the fish controls with its mind. Do you think a fish could learn to walk?

Mysterious metal falls from sky

October 19, 2007 2:45pm

@ Peter Swimm... that's what I was thinking!

Creepy Michael Jackson fright-mask

October 18, 2007 6:49pm

That looks far too real for comfort. How do you wear it? It looks like either it would be very complicated to attach around the eyes, or you couldn't see out at all because you'd have fake eyes over your eyes. Can this thing actually be worn at all? Does it take a professional makeup crew to apply?

Which laws don't we enforce and why?

October 15, 2007 5:38pm

Halifax is still trying to be scent-free, and succeeding to some extent. Unfortunately, a lot of the businesses and institutions that advertise their scent-free policy still use (nasty) scented cleaning products in their bathrooms!

Chinese MMO bans in-game gender-bending

September 26, 2007 8:57am

"it requires gamers who chose female characters to prove their biological sex with a webcam"

Sounds like they were hoping to make girls take naughty videos of themselves!
