Gogol Bordello's punk gypsy

Never heard of them until they came out with Super Taranta last Summer. Great album. I've listened to it many times and would like to hear some of their other stuff. I also had a renewed interest when I saw Wristcutters A Love Story a few months ago.

Social worker befriends mugger

March 28, 2008 12:18pm

This helps me to restore a little of my faith in humanity. I would not try this with just *any* mugger though. It kind of reminds me of the time when I was on my way to school going through a toll area. I realized I was in the wrong lane and had to cut in front of someone. She was in such a fit of rage that when my vehicle was in front of her she rammed my car with her vehicle. I could not *believe* it. I pulled the emergency brake and got out of the vehicle to inspect for damage. There was none. I started to walk over to her car to give her a piece of my mind and saw some kids in the back. So I changed my mind. I got in to my car and paid her toll. It did make me feel good to take the high road but it also became a habit of treating anger with kindness because it made me feel better than retaliation.

Percussion Table Makes for Musical Chairs

On jurassic 5's tour 2 years ago, promoting their cd...they would take the covers off these old school desks with their names on them and start beating an akai mpc sampler making the beat just like they're sitting in detention helping the time pass. This is almost as cool.

Sony kills DRM stores -- your DRM music will only last until your next upgrade

I used to use a stand alone md recorder for recording mixes for about 2 years which no longer works. Just this month I found those old mixes and thought wow now i can transfer to my pc and back up those old mixes with the old sony pc>md player no such luck. This time drm got me. I'm locked into to this Atrac if I want to listen to my mixes forever. And I have to forget about ever having control of the content I created.

Life of universe shortened by observing dark energy?

November 30, 2007 12:04pm

This theory reminds me of the Electron Interference Experiment or Double Slit Experiment. Which in theory proves that by merely observing electrons projected through walls with slits in them that they change their path. Without observation on a small enough scale the electrons will go through all slits as observed at the destination wall. Observation at the point of entry will cause it too pick a slit to travel through.
