Experiment: 96% of passers-by ignore famous artist's street painting

R. Crumb's orginal art sells for over $100,000 at auction
January 25, 2008 11:56am
This is good news for people with old Crumbs laying around ... but Crumb himself won't see any of the 100K. Too bad, he deserves it.
Boing Boing tv: Trailers from Hell / Discount Lobotomies
October 4, 2007 8:09am
The website referred to `Blog2.com` is pronounced - `Blog-T.O.` (as in the acronym for Toronto Ontario). (blogto.com)
Also, people calling in for lobotomies were people playing with the joke, so there's no need to imply that a 'surprising number of Toronto residents' are into getting their brains mangled. It could instead imply that a surprising number of Toronto residents have a sense of humour. It should also be said that this poster is borrowing the graphic design from a campaign earlier in the summer offering cheap divorces.
Naomi Klein on remaking people by shocking them into obediance
October 3, 2007 9:03am
I support Klein's work but I have to say this video comes across as amateur propaganda. The graphics are way too influenced by 1990s Radiohead album art and the message is too heavy-handed. It's frankly embarrassing and I'm surprised it's getting so much play across the web. Shouldn't people like Klein be trying to convince with superior arguments and not art-school films?

This is the image Tuymans's painted. The original is way better (and honestly, if this *photo* had been put up on the street, I don't imagine it would have been ignored).
