Might I be the Euro to point out again that iof you weren't all armed to the teeth then this wouldn't happen.
Your war on drugs is a farce, and a very expensive one. But that is political policy, irrespective of that, if you were not armed then there'd be a live cop and a bogus drugs charge.
Not ideal but a helluva loe better than dead cop and an imminent ride on old Sparky.

"blah blah blah big bad company. If someone were stealing your things and giving them to charity, I'm sure you'd be ok with that, right? Well, neither are those who hold stock in comic corporations. Would you expect Time Warner to allow charities to sell pirated copies of their movies? This is really no different."
Pardon me, but WHAT SORT OF A TARD ARE YOU?
How is it stealing?
Theft reqires an item to be taken , so that the owner no longer has the item.
This , at the absolute limit of judicial stupididty could be considered copyright infringement. But it'sd have to be by a tard of a lawyer in cahoots with an equally backwards judge.
Your moral comparison from drawing Batman for a charity auction and commercially running a counterfieting operation beggars credence.
And finally, I weep salty tears of grief for the poor benighted DC stock holders.
Oh woe is them.
NO one has ever boot legged a comic, they cost a dollar or 2, so your point is absurd.

Heroin actually has few physical down sides apart from constipation.
People shoot heroin because thay are after more from less, most would smoke it.
Addiction is the bit that destroys people and communities.
If we can find a cure for the addiction regardless of the substance then i think all drugs should be allowed.
That includes booze & fags.

Others will be pulling billies* 'til their head caves in.
It's the varying addiction response.

"Quite a few people believe he has killed."
Actually that is such a nothing statement as to almost not deserve answering.
Some people believe I can fly, some people believe the world sails through the ether on the back of elephants.
None of the above are admissable in law.
"being able to convince others to kill for you is far far far worse than ever being able to kill someone."
So that would cover every single leader of every single country?
What about every officer in every army?
Agaion your point is not pertinent to the law.
Oh it's the reason why he is still in jail, he scares the shit out of people, but that is not actually illegal.
On the one hand you say...
"I'm not a fan of the death penalty"
And then go on to say that...
"So no...he hasn't "fulfilled any reasonable tarrif for the crime" and never will."
So he shouldn't be killed by the state, but has been in prison for getting on for 40 years now but still that wouldn't satisfy you.
So which is it?
Respect the law and the sentencing of said law, or can the governent just throw away the key as and when it pleases?
The govt can not be above the law.
Interestingly Linda Kasabian did not participate in any of the murders either, she was however a co-conspirator, but was granted TOTAL immunity from prosecution if she turned states evidence.
So she walked on charges, that had they been brought, would have put her away for the same term as Manson.

Let's look at the facts re Charles Manson?
Juvenile reform school rapist, thief, pimp and all round scum bag sure.
But he never killed ANYONE.
His little friends did the killing.
Sure he can be seen as a conspiritor before and after the fact but he isn't actually a murderer.
The US seems to have this total blind spot to this fact.
Manson will never be realesed despite having fulfilled any reasonable tarrif for the crime.
Much the same way Myra Hindley in the UK was a conspirator to murder but never actually killed anyone, yet would never have been released from prison if she'd lived to be a thousand.
Don't get me wrong, I am not keen for Chuck's release, nor particularly for the late Ms Hindley for that matter, but it does constitute the suspension of the law to appease the hysteria of the public.

Cal State U forced to re-hire Quaker math teacher who inserted "non-violently" into loyalty oath
March 9, 2008 9:27am
It strikes me, being a Scot in the UK, that the whole notion of signing a loyalty oath is preposterous.
It performs absolutely no function.
If I was to be loyal that would be demonstrated in my actions, if disloyalty was my intention then I would have no compunction about signing a document that was as nothing to me.
If millions of Californians did wage war against the State Of California, I think whether or not they'd popped the old John Hancock to some flap doodle document would be the least of anyone's worries.

If you were a terrorist, you only have to say "no, not me", then go right ahead and hijack those planes and pilot them into the WTC
All such documents are pointless.

Fidel Castro, Commander in Chief of Cuba, resigns
February 20, 2008 4:02am
I've never been able to fathom the US Americans reactions to Fidel Catro and Cuba.
They had a revolution to force out the corrupt overlords who treated the people like chattle.
So did the US.
They were never particularly soviet communists, until the US embargo forved them between the sheets with Kruschev.
The US has been openly scheming to assasinate their leader on and off for the last 40 years.
And before anyone jumps down my neck about how the Communists have killed their political enemies, so did the previous administration.
And truth be told if a government iss going to go about killing people if they do it from a political conviction that they are trying to help the people, surely that is less repugnant than killing people to protect Dole fruits share price or at the behest of the mafia?
If the US had not had an embargo with Cuba it would have fallen in 15 years.
Peole's avarice would have brought it down.

SIMON GREENWOOD.
No mate you misunderstand me. All the plug sockets (electrical outlets) in the UK are like the 3 pin Squre pattern shown on the far left of the picture.
But the one there is installed the wrong way round.
The two horizontal holes are at the bottom whie the vertical central hole goes to the top.
I assure you this is the way it is done here.
In fact it's been done that way MILLIONS of times in the Uk.
really.

The one nearest the camera is the UK socket, but oddly it has been installed upside down.
And yeah I looked for the Aussie/Kiwi plug too Alsen, but remembered it's the EBU, the clue being the E for European.

MAURIK, the 3rd from left is a 2 pin socket whilst Oz/NZ plugs are 3 pins.

I put one on my mail box and BAM, no more Junkmail.
What a crazy idea.

in my wastrel youth I did some spray can grafitti, a friend had a can of spray cheez he'd brought back from the states so as a joke he "wrote" on the wall with it.
My paint has long since faded and gone but the cheez is engrained in the concrete at a molecular level and is still there over 20 years later.
And people eat that crap?

There are posts here from someone by the name of MACHINE, the like of which beggar credence.
Displaying epic ignorance he suggests that all of the problems, both in Pakistan and from reading his other posts apparently the rest of the world, by the judiscious application of bullets.
This crusader style advocacy of "Kill em all and god will know his own" sits rather uncomfortably with the notion that it is an "ethical clean up".
A real display of frankly monsterous stupidity, willful ignorance and erroneous ethical hubris.

oddly my post here seems to NOT have shown up.
So here goes again.
The war on drugs is policy and as such can be changed by you lot voting in reformers.
As for this incident...
If you weren't all armed for bear, then you'd have one live copper and one illegal search and seizure/arrest.
As it is, dead police and a guy off for a ride on Old Sparky.
The gun thing is like some sort of localised dementia with you US types.
