The best thing BoingBoing could do is fire the moderator and her staff. Then, they should hire someone with the ability to talk to people without insulting them - someone humble - someone who cares more about the quality of the blog than being right.

If something was cool enough to warrent a post however many years ago, it should stay up for that very reason - regardless of new developments.

Also, westlaw and nexis/lexus contain a lot more than just "50 years of decisions of the U.S. Courts of Appeals" - and i could see the US wanting everything, not just those.

This is the first time I've heard of the tactic of disemvoweling - and the first thing that strikes me about it is this:
is there any point to it other than just rubbing it in the faces of posters that the moderator has the last word?
If it is offensive or rude just delete it - otherwise, leave it. I know my comments are at your mercy - disemvoweling seems to me like putting the heads of your enemies on polls both to deter others and to celebrate your power.

I agree that an electronic copy is inferior to a paper copy (as far as reading goes) but I hope that more authors follow Gaiman in this.
I'm personally way more likely to buy a book from an author i've read before (and liked) then I am to try something new.
Oh, and as a side note, does anyone know if Cory has a book out? It's been awhile since i've heard.
