Fake breasts from the $1 store
December 21, 2007 1:05pm
Chickie Pants and Vidiot. I''m sooo glad I did not have a mouthful of liquid when I read those posts.
Anachronismo, I'm grossed out by any 'personal items' found a thrift stores, including underwear. Clothing I will buy, kitchenware and furniture yes Bedding, underwear, etc. not so much. Just a pesonal squick.
Fake breasts from the $1 store

That's bad. but not as bad as finding a pair of the high-end, gel-filled, 'natural' falsies in a thrift store. Still in the box but it looked used used used. EEEUW. And they were sorted with the shoes and handbags. Double-eeeuw.
Pig toy returns to normal after being squashed - video

Because of cats, the gooey wall-walker things always gave me the willies. Our house is as clean as it can sanely be, and now I live in an older house that if I obsessed about dust I'd get nothing else done. Between dust and cat hair and cat etc. it'd be more than I can deal with.
Just saying. I also dislike things that are created 'just' so someone can be mean to them. It looks piteous as it's smashed to the floor.
Just saying.

if humans were that sensitive to animal flesh products we'd be extinct. Undercooked meat? Probably for the bulk of our existance it was undercooked or maybe even uncooked.
We'd have become exitinct. 'nuff said. Your mileage may vary, but our survival record pretty much presents the fact that as a species we're pretty durable. Individuals may be weaker, susceptible to weird stuff, etc. but as a species we seem to do okay.
Just sayin'.
Killing a Pleo robotic dinosaur -- video

I agree that maybe things like the Pleo could be a good measure to test kids for abnormal cruelty before they act out on other people or live pets.
I 'want'* one, just to see how it acts with my cat hoarde (well, four, one late middle-aged, one 7 and two
(* as in people in hell want icewater. Unless we win the lottery it ain't happening)
"God-Cleaner" Foot Bath Draws Out Toxins, Money
December 5, 2007 6:32pm
I HAVE a nice, little foot spa (stored dry between uses, fill with warm water and it's a champ). If the water ever turns out brown and goopy, I'd be worried one of my fur beasts had gotten into it and polluted it. Eeew.
What Herr Wunderwerk says says it all. eewu again.
OrbiTouch Keyless Keyboard and Mouse
November 28, 2007 6:49pm
I would be so farked if my hands ever got screwed up. I learned to touch type at 16 (dad insisted it was the most important skill I would ever learn, he had no idea of the onset of computers then...). I've pretty well learned to thumb-type on my phone for text messages but it's still way way slower than my typing.
Ad for hot Dr Pepper
November 14, 2007 5:52pm
Our local Smaks (hamburger chain, died off .... late 80s) offered hot Dr Pepper with a lemon slice, just after I started driving in 1972. I'd grab one on my to school....
Yum. But I bet it is not as good with the HFCS Dr P
6 die from brain-eating amoeba in lakes
September 28, 2007 8:28pm
Learned more about this in a graduate-level parasitology course in college in the late 70s. We had to do research and produce a paper. At the time there were only one or two deaths a year, at most, and the organism was less understood.
Strengthened my apprehension about swimming in any water I can't see through.
(the most memorable part of the class was not the class. The end of the class was presenting our papers, two a session. I gave mine on Toxoplasma gondii and he gave his on the Naegleria same day. We had helped one another on our projects and dutch-treated ourselves to dinner. We made the folks in the next booth at the SXXXXXR (defunct steakhouse chain) leave before ordering....)

If I had any dough I'd contribute it, but I'm in the 7th month of unemployment.
I think that if I were fortunate to be in the CW situation but at such a large campus, I'd likely carry my Mac iBook with me.
I'm not sure a lockbox is practical in a dorm room, but it seems like a good idea. And dorm rooms aren't usually serviced by random cleaning personnel like a hotel room. I distrust hotel in-room lock boxes extremely because I have a feeling all of housekeeping has keys. Ido not use them when I'm a dealer and making money for that reason.
