TuneUp cleans iTunes library

Funny espresso rant
July 14, 2008 3:27pm
And this is where I come in and say "If people were as concerned about their government as they were about their coffee, we might not be having the problems we're having with this administration".
Talking doll establishes "direct connection with Jesus" says commercial
June 17, 2008 10:47am
I take issue with the fact that Jesus apparently only takes credit cards. Would not the true son of God wish his message spread via PayPal?
Anti-energy drink
June 6, 2008 8:49am
...does it have to be grape flavored? Why not passionfruit? Or apple?
Sit-down-and-shut-up "Christian" Ford dealership is run by a non-church attendee who is sorry about the ad
May 28, 2008 8:32pm
Too late, I'm buying a Smart car.
Best Buy dance party
May 28, 2008 2:16am
Yes, many people everywhere have found themselves unable to resist the powerful and compelling force known only as "tha JAM".
House passes bill that will let the RIAA take away your home for downloading music
May 12, 2008 2:40am
...meanwhile, major record labels are pushing sure-sell recording acts who are either well-established or heavily groomed to be popular based on market research of current musical trends.
Super-premium theater chain in the US to sell $35 movie tickets
March 28, 2008 9:26am
$35+ to watch current Hollywood fare? Mmmmmmmno.
FWIW, Kansas has a similar chain, as well: http://www.warrentheaters.com/
Seat service is only available in the Old Town Theatre and the main (balcony) theatre of the other locations.
What's the most important artist's right?
January 7, 2008 10:06pm
Art should exist in spite of its repressors.
Knot science
December 31, 2007 11:13am
Is it wrong that the first thing that came to mind when I saw this post was Clive Barker's short story, "The Inhuman Condition"? Beware what comes of untangling knots....
Priests brawl at Jesus' birthplace
December 29, 2007 3:48pm
A little alcohol, marijuana and some sexual experimentation and they wouldn't keep having problems like this.
Comedy mashup album: It is to Laff
December 12, 2007 11:18am
If we're lucky, there will never be a video for "Turd Night". Because you know what's going to be involved.
Tim Burton to direct Alice in Wonderland
December 12, 2007 8:40am
Regarding the film adaptation of American McGee's ALICE...it's still in the works. There was a rumor that Sarah Michelle Gellar had been replaced by Maggie Grace last week, but this was disproven by an inside source.
And I like most of Burton's work, but the American McGee film version is the Alice I'm waiting to see. Especially if Marcus Nispel stays fairly faithful to the game's tone.
Bionic cat X-ray
November 28, 2007 7:59pm
"I know I shouldn't have the window open, but Baby always cries so pitifully if she doesn't feel the breeze...she's the child I never had and I can't help but spoil her."
Hello Kitty Bicycle Tires
November 28, 2007 7:57pm
These look like sidewalk/subdivision pavement-only tires. If you were to encounter rough terrain or a slick patch, the only good thing about these would be that as the CSIs examined the mangled remains of you and your bicycle, one of them would have an unexpected cute moment.
Drew Carey on medical marijuana
November 11, 2007 4:25pm
I wholeheartedly agree that the ban on marijuana, medical or otherwise, is a sin and a crime against the people of America.
That being said...I can't help but wonder if this is going to be Drew Carey's pet cause, whereas Bob Barker's was the Humane Society. And if so...how will this affect his tenure at The Price Is Right, if at all?
Screensaver displays security cam images
November 11, 2007 3:55pm
Random real-time images of public places as idle entertainment for endusers. I like it.
CIA's "terrorist buster" logo
October 23, 2007 3:28pm
This symbol is offensive to ninja citizens who exercise their Second Amendment rights to own semi-automatic weapons for home defense. It it so on now.
Russia's culture minister bans photo of kissing policemen
October 14, 2007 10:48am
Spinach: What's also ironic is that the original graffiti piece that this is based on was also censored by a couple of random homophobic art critics. I have a feeling that the response to this piece is based largely on the growth of the vehemently anti-gay Russian Orthodox church movement, which has also become a menacing presence in the Western United States (so far, one reported gay bashing death).
Modern phrenologists "predict" terrorism with biometrics
October 6, 2007 6:55pm
I have a bad feeling about this one.
New AT&T terms of service: We'll cut off your Internet connection for criticizing us
September 30, 2007 2:11am
I'm going to circumvent the default debate here and suggest the possibility of third-party/DIY high speed internet? Surely it couldn't be that difficult at this point...?
Trent Reznor to China: download our music, don't buy it from pirates
September 13, 2007 7:54am
...and Trent is releasing multi-track files of every song on the new album for fans to remix.
Soba maker toy lets kids make Japanese noodles
September 13, 2007 7:50am
Now that's the kind of "toy" I want to see more of Stateside. Coming soon...My First Fruit Drier!
Flowchart: The Science of Gangsta Rap
September 11, 2007 11:08pm
...and no one has accounted for the inevitable homies and possible bustas.
Voice-stress ice-cream dispenser increases portions for the miserable
September 11, 2007 11:00pm
Inappropriate caloric intake or not, this man is about to be a hero to millions. Particularly ladies and children.
I wonder if there will be a function that automatically adds fudge or chocolate cookies?
Bookcase built into chair
September 10, 2007 11:27pm
It should have non-slip material lining the bottom of each shelf so the books don't fall out. And since it's been such a big deal lately, I'm wondering if the lamp is an incandescent or a CFB...
Toy gun encourages kids to stick barrel in mouth
September 10, 2007 11:24pm
I foresee the post photo ending up as a default icon for many a Livejournal.
Quiz: match drug to warning label
September 10, 2007 11:20pm
My personal "favorite" side-effect warning was in a television commercial for anti-depression medication for dogs. Potential side effects included dizziness, nausea and death. Death.
I think I would rather have a sad dog.
Woman has 23 needles in body
September 10, 2007 11:18pm
With any luck, the grandparents' souls are somewhere having needles inserted into very painful places for eternity.
Bush's alien overlord peeks through window during speech
September 8, 2007 2:27am
OHNOES, It's the reptilians from the fourth dimension! Call David Icke!
Tasty frozen clown brains for sale at circus
September 7, 2007 1:37pm
Aw, man...they didn't have that when I used to go to the circus with my parents. I usually ended up with one of the revolving flashlights. And some cotton candy.
Mark Dery on Taco Bell
September 6, 2007 1:41pm
On a related note, there is a Taco Bell taco seasoning mix (duh) that is available in most major supermarkets for about 49 cents a pouch. Nice to add to ground meat or soy tofu, and then you can have your own Taco Bell experience and (mostly) know what's going into it.

The thing that always irks me about Gracenote is that dance DJs often get the short end of the stick, because there are still a lot of releases that were only on vinyl, so of course they won't have the metadata available for MP3s of said vinyl. This wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that Gracenote-enabled software will often guess at these...and get it very wrong.
