I Want Sandy - perfect productivity email bot is free and public
November 14, 2007 8:21am
I've been using Sandy during the beta phase for a few month now and really like "her" a lot. The best feature is, that I can send mails to Sandy from work and other mail addresses - so whenever I need to get some information out of my head I now can. Also Sandy is no data black hole. You can export the stuff you put into it.

Of course I would not trust all my mails to a non-European service, and I don't use the CC-Feature much for that reason. But even then, Sandy is pretty useful, if you email "her" directly. Also, most other email-providers have all my email, too, at some point. Plus: Would you fully trust a human secretary?
Ceramic Food Warmer for Steam Radiators
November 13, 2007 12:44am
My landlord measures the heating use with a decive connected to the radiator. The more fluid evaporates, the more I pay. The easiest way to increase my monthly heating costs is to make sure the heat can't escape from the radiator.
This sounds like a very stupid idea to me...

Congratulations on the launch.
Alas I have to agree with MadMolecule that I don't really like the TV-format experience. I love BB and have been reading it daily for a few years now. While visiting BB always gives me something to discover, the TV format just leaves me empty. It's like the difference of visiting a foreign place on your own with a map or being driven thru it in a tourist bus.
BTW, I'm also slightly shocked about the 3D animation at the beginning, as BB used to take a stand against bland CGI (like here:
www.boingboing.net/2007/05/02/new-tootsie-pop-comm.html) so it's strange to see you do the same thing with your own logo.
On the bright side: I did like the unicon chaser bit at the end, though and the production looked classy.
I just hope that the written BB stays your #1 priority, because the time spent producing the TV segments can eat up valuable web discovering time.
No friends yet.

Note that the Ipod Nano 1st generation hardware is capable of playing video - it can do this if you put an alternative firmware called Rockbox on it. This firmware is not available for newer Ipods, because Apple introduced security measures that make changing the firmware more difficult.
So it's highly probable that any color screen Ipod has the potential of playing back video as long as Itunes produces a format suited to the hardware limitations of that model.
