POW editions of Monopoly from WWII included escape kits
November 21, 2007 5:28am
A few years back while doing a consulting gig for U.S. Playing Cards I got to visit their in-house museum. The had a display about secret escape maps that they'd imbedded literally inside Bicycle playing cards.
They also mentioned that technically, that information was still classified - and it was the mid 90's when I learned about it.
Of course, a quick search on eBay will find you a replica deck . . .
Nice CB radio card

I haven't seen one of these in years, but I do have one that my grandparents made - which included all their grandchildren. And I went with them to more than one CB Radio potluck meeting - it must have been in the early 70s.
Think of CB as the internet of 40 years ago. It was a way for the ordinary joe, for as little as $50 to connect up with a little bubble of community - either fixed in your home, or mobile in your vehicle.

This stuff infuriates me, too. My wife is tire of hearing me rant when some home decorating TV show talks about arranging books by color and size.
Half Price Books does the same thing, selling "Books By the Yard".
It's maddening.
