Man, I'd love to see an Op/Ed on the distribution system. I get that the code hacks will not want to be tied down. But I can think of plenty of reasons why I would prefer to have it centralized.

Is it not beyond the realm of possibility that a "dock" with game controls would be available? I'm pretty sure the access to "dock" functions was not available yet, but I can't image a FPS via touch.

This is kind of interesting. What if you were given the option to purchase a future proofing insurance for speculative purchases. Perhaps something similar to this program. Would it be worth $20 up front on competing technologies?

I guess this would only make sense for a certain length of time with certain technology. Of course innovators generally don't care about price and have the resources to absorb failures. It is the early adopters and early majority that are more cautious. Perhaps a fit for that group to adopt a technology earlier.

In 55 years since this was done we still can't find anything to watch on TV. We have the one simple control TV, it's all buried in the menus. Did you notice the many of the sets were widescreen?

Also interesting is that content was custom to the user. That the user would be in such control of the content that the delivery mechanism was customized. Tex is a bit of a visionary. Great find, hadn't seen this in years!
