Baconator: fantasy vs reality

I remember Moss burger. Curiously, they didn't taste like moss.

Fast food is bad for you. Cook at home. Don't eat burgers.

Bill O'Reilly on Sarah Palin email hack

September 22, 2008 11:15am

The guy is Bill O'Reilly. What did you expect? That he would sit patiently and listen? He's an obnoxious loud meathead and he always will be.

Famous Berkeley Bowl supermarket profiled in LA Times

I worked there for two weeks in 1988. Definitely a great place.

#6:tasteless by design or not, it's still nasty. I can just imagine some party, sitting around this table. "Look at this table, a guy getting tortured! Isn't that funny and so massively hip!" No it isn't. It's just stupid and the sense of humor is kind of ugly. Where's the joke? I don't get it. I really don't see anything funny about those events.

But if you don't agree with me, that's okay. I obviously have too much time on my hands to bother posting on this at all.

#5:I'm complaining about Boingboing because I like a lot of their stuff, I think they have done a lot of interesting, funny, and important blogging. That's why I care.

Living a false delusion

April 2, 2008 9:32pm

The diagnosis didn't depend on the falsity of the belief. Their diagnosis was that this person was exhibiting signs of mental illness. If the guy is obsessing to an irrational degree about thinking he is mentally ill.....then he has a problem and needs help.
Sometimes mentally ill people know they are mentally ill. Sometimes they don't.

HOWTO contract a sex worker in Silicon Valley

February 8, 2008 2:55pm

There are no shades of grey here. Using prostitutes is morally wrong because it always is emotionally damaging to the female. Prostitutes are all messed up and you using them makes them worse and worse off. It is not something to joke about.

Sex worker is a bullshit euphemism.

Music snob t-shirts

December 3, 2007 4:58pm

I still think that the part that is part of both circles should be something that is both "music I like" and "music you like". "Music I used to like" is not part of "music I like". "used to" implies "music I used to like and don't anymore".

But hey, it's just a t-shirt, not an SAT question.

In that diagram "music I used to like" should also be "music I like", which doesn't make any sense. Music can't be both liked and not liked.
"Music I used to like" should be completely outside of the "music I like" circle.

Remembering Timothy Leary on his birthday

October 23, 2007 10:28pm

That doesn't make any sense. Does that mean that you think that everybody who happened to jump out a window during an acid trip deserved what they got?

Anyway, I don't need to have this discussion. You young people will learn soon enough, or more likely, you won't.

of Timothy Leary makes him out to be a cynical manipulator. I really have no respect for the guy. (but I'm open to argument).
The whole idea of hallucinogens opening up the mind is dangerous, as hallucinogens are dangerous. If you want enlightenment, try meditation. LSD will not enlighten you.
