Might I suggest using a human powered generator rather then mooching off of nature? Something like this: http://www.windstreampower.com/Human_Power_Generator_Series.php
It would give you a lot more power then a solar panel. You could always ride your bike in, which would allow you to carry more, and then hook it up to one of these.
