Interview with Mayor about baseless no-knock pot raid

Jesus Wept!
I've got family members who work in Law Enforcement. I *know* what good, competent police work is. I even started down the road of becoming a police officer myself, until my red/green color deficiency put the kibosh on that.
I only hope that the work His Honor Mayor Calvo is doing with the Internal Affairs Division pays off and the person(s) responsible for this cluster-f&(k get handed their heads!
Tekna2007@#10: Agreed.
Cheye Calvo for President?

LGAGNON @43:
I haven't studied child psychology yet my two children were raised along the lines proposed by Artbot@28 and Svenski@23.
Both of my kids turned out OK. My daughter is now a reporter with a southern California newspaper and my son is currently attending school in pursuit of a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Neither one has every exhibited a lack of spontaneity and/or conscience.
Before we all run off and start a "my kid is better than your kid" type of argument lets remember:
"There are ten thousand ways to sing the lays and every one of them is correct"
(Can't remember where I read that...)
Strange fences

Neat collection!
The minutes I saw the last picture in the set (the mattress-thingy) I was instantly reminded of this from Percy Bysshe Shelley:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings: Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!

Cool! If I didn't have a trip planned to Washington DC that I can't get out of I would have been going to this.

August 6, 2008 3:51pm
When I first read this I noticed that the attorney's last name was Springer and immediately thought of Jerry Springer :).
Had to click through to the actual article to find out his real name (Colby Springer). Figured it wasn't Jerry to begin with, but still had to click through to set my mind at ease.

Wonderland Expedition Kit: greatest gift ever?
August 2, 2008 6:17pm
Speaking of Alice in Wonderland. I just ran across a re-telling of the Wonderland story by Frank Beddor. There are a series of books starting with
The Looking Glass Wars which then moves on to
Seeing Redd (The Looking Glass Wars) and a few others as well that fill in the back-story.
So far I've only picked up "Seeing Redd" but now I want to get the others too.

Oh WOW!
DOOM at angels 30!
I'm hyped on one hand and kinda bummed on the other.
Hyped because this looks so neat and would definitely be an airline I'd want to fly.
Bummed because I don't normally fly to anywhere Virgin Air goes. Guess I'll just have to plan a trip to London or something.
Xeni/Derek, I didn't see this as an ad at all. I saw this with the same sense of excitement and awe that you guys must have felt. Keep 'em coming!

I'm I the only one who read the title as
"Homeless people *disgusted* as stranded tourists sleep on Heathrow's benches."
I thought it was another story about the mess in the new terminal. :-)
