Henry Miller's unfond memories of NYC

June 15, 2008 1:02pm

I agree with #14... Thank you BB for showing me Henry Miller! He is one of my favorite writers as well, and strangely I hadn't thought to look for video of him. Looking forward to hearing more of that raspy Brooklyn accent!

Giant pirate ship wall-decal for kids' rooms

Great: Kids horseplaying grab one of the oars, which hits the heavy brass mirror thingy, which falls and cracks a skull or breaks a shoulder: oops!

You Suck at Photoshop #5

February 1, 2008 11:32pm

Hmmm... a whois of phebco.com shows that it was created on 1/29/08 (even though the pages say (c)2006) and is registered to Big Fat Brain Creative of Covington, Kentucky - a little tiny ad agency. Draw your own conclusions.

Badass rayguns: postapocalyptic, steampunk, deadly

Skunk's work rocks! He mixes steam-punk and humor to make magic devices to thwart teh evil-doers! He is also the founder and captain of SCUL, Boston's bad-assest bike gang. SCUL members pilot a fleet of handcrafted ships to keep the Boston starsystem safe for bike-pirates of all flavahs... do not doubt their awesome power!!!

Mathematics of waiting for the bus

January 23, 2008 10:16pm

Oh the buses of Cambridge! I've waited for the 86 countless times, only to surmise after waiting 40 minutes that A) the previous bus was 10 mins early, and B) the subsequent bus is 15 mins late. All told, that means I'll get to work about 25 mins tardy.

The saving grace is that my bus stop is right outside the Sherman Cafe, which means I'm enjoying tasty breakfast treats the entire time (and prob getting to watch a funeral across the street). I can't say Scott enjoys the same benefits.

I usually ride my bike, but I got doored last week. Hmph.
