Couple gets hitched at a funeral home
September 3, 2008 8:51am
There's a funeral home in St. George, Utah that has a beautiful staircase. My sister had her bridal photos taken there, and apparently they have brides come in to do this several times a week.

He probably won't be able to find a tape of that "I've Got a Secret" episode. I've heard one of the writers of "The Match Game" complain that the tapes were frequently recorded over because they didn't see value in archiving them. Also, sadly, there are old episodes of "Dr. Who" that have been lost to the same sort of thinking.

We used to have one of those when my dad was a firefighter. We really got a kick out of the fact that one of the items we came across in the book was "Cosmetics."
Puzzle alarm clock demands more than mere wakefulness

I can just see my three year old nephew walking off with one of the puzzle pieces, which then leaves me fumbling behind the nightstand to unplug the damn thing at six in the morning.
Three-year-old boy has never slept; parents maintain 24-hour vigil

Inverse Square, every parent whose child has some sort of disability has to make sacrifices to care for the child. My parents certainly did. What I'm asking is if the child is really worse off for not sleeping, (something the news report did not state,) or if the parents are sacrificing the health of the child for the ability to sleep through the night. Every surgery has risks, experimental surgeries even more so.
Three-year-old boy has never slept; parents maintain 24-hour vigil

They mention the disorder that keeps him from sleeping, and the effects it has on the parents, but they don't mention the effect it has on the CHILD. They're taking him in for experimental surgery to correct this "problem," but they didn't make the case for why he needs it. Will he die if he doesn't get any sleep? Does it affect his mental functioning? Or are the parents just doing it for their own convenience? The article just doesn't provide enough information.

For all those who are asking about if it was legal for the landlord to enter: in my state, if a renter is behind on their rent, are not occupying the premises, and can not be contacted by any means, it can be considered abandoned after 30 days. My parents have been landlords for many years, and have had to use the abandonment provisions several times. It would also be legal for them to photograph the premises to document damage. We might be getting into a legal gray area when it comes posting the photos on a blog, but from the state of the computer, the renter probably doesn't use the internet.
