Monitor slime with embossed Dell logo

March 6, 2008 11:58am

Wow, that was confusing at first...
That's not slime. Coffee+milk spilled under some Dell equipment (the base of a CRT monitor or maybe a tower?) got mouldy, then slowly dried up. It's basically crusty dried coffee now.

First-ever electronica album released under Creative Commons with collecting society support

Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music is basically a sampler of hundreds of styles of electronic music. (I think his classifications are crap personally)

I agree electronica is a useful term. I more or less know what to expect when I click on the link. Tell that to bcsizemo, he's the one who disagrees.

@radioguy, franko:

1920x1200 is the perfect resolution to display 1080p (1920x1080) content. The reason is that widescreen TVs are 16:9 and widescreen monitors are 16:10.

Lagos: fastest-growing city in the world

Interesting video, but yeesh. They were robbed and forced to pay bribes, and walked through mosquito infested sewers. It's only colourful and interesting because our camera crew is so wealthy. A few dollars here and there mean nothing to them, and they have all their malaria shots. They don't have to rely on ignorant, superstitious vigilantes for protection.

Remember The Ghost Map, which was featured on Boingboing? London started building sewers throughout the city, even through the slums, back in about 1850. Eliminating the open sewers is a good place to start if their intention of being the London of Africa is more than just lip service.
