World's *est: Project Genesis Oasis-class cruise liner

June 20, 2008 8:59am

Plague opportunity, no kidding. Few years ago I went on a cruise on one of their ships with a group of 40 family members. MOST of them came down with Norovirus. They were nice enough to offer us $50 off our next cruise if taken in six months as an apology ...

Canadian Parliament shoutfest over the Canadian DMCA

It could not be more clear that Prentice knows this bill is indefensible. I've yet to hear him answer a direct question with anything more than his "made-in-Canada" and "format-shifting" talking points, or digs at Michael Geist.

Cronan, you can tell a difference? The only difference I've seen is that the Cons are better at keeping things under wraps. I got sick and tired of voting defensively a few years ago after attending a repulsive town hall meeting involving Bill Graham (who had a shouting match with my wife on Front Street over health care). I started voting Green. Might as well start voting for what you believe in, instead of against what you don't.

Sparkzilla:

Not that a "human rights" organisation would have a political agenda, or anything...

Oh, they have an agenda alright. Human. Rights. Wow, I never thought I'd see a freeper torture-apologist on Boing Boing. Sparkzilla, you really, really disgust me.

Sorry to post what's basically a personal attack, but I can't stand seeing someone's dignity and well-being written off as a political football.

Nostalgia or not, I think the Circle-M with rotating planes was the BEST THROBBER EVER.

Free e-book: WWII soldier in Changi prison camp

Thanks for posting this. My Grandad was a prisoner in that same camp, and has written up his memoirs of the experience, which are a harrowing read.

Droid Sans Mono, a sweet monospace font

The "o" and "0" bug me a bit, too.

Here's a great review of monospaced fonts: http://www.lowing.org/fonts/

I use Anonymous alot when coding. My other fave is Deja Vu, which is licensed in a fashion that would appeal to Cory! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DejaVu_fonts

I like fonts that look good when they're big. My eye site is the pits in the wee hours, and I like to crank my font size ridiculously high.

Using Less Power Good; Using None at All Better

The thing I always try to remember when I'm yearning for messenger bags with solar chargers and other green gewgaws is that the most environmentally friendly product is the one you don't buy.

Unless you're replacing your Hummer with a bicycle.
