I noticed his lack of punctuation too. But what is someone like that doing on a feminist website in the first place? That smacks of a hatemonger spoiling for a fight with someone.
Interruptive media versus multitasking

Some businesses place a high value on multi-tasking - glorify it, in fact. Apparently I multi-task well. I think it's very over-rated. If all my co-workers go to lunch and my email, IM, cell and regular phone line are quiet, I'll be more productive than in the first 5 hours of the day. Multi-tasking feels more like fragmentation. Some author called it exactly that. I'll remember once I get home and can focus on doing only one thing...

Not sure that I really agree with disemvowelling - perhaps a cutscreen link would be more democratic - but the word is kinda interesting to say... "disemvowelling..."
TSA searches, detains 5 year old because his name was on no-fly list
January 9, 2008 4:09pm
About a year ago I was taking a flight home and was given the wrong ticket. The lady at the counter didn't check my ID and gave me the ticket of someone with the same last name. I got the special search in the security that sends you into the line off to one side and lasts three times as long. No one ever said anything to me about a problem or an incongruity. I didn't notice the problem until I was double checking the connection time on my second ticket - I didn't have one. Real safe and efficient guys.
All the rest of the times I fly, and all the fuss they make over things like a tube of chapstick, I wonder when they're just going to start handing out paper dresses.

"You just have to find the authors who don't think kids are morons." Exactly. There's some great stuff in the YA section. Don't be afraid of looking like an old perv or weirdo in the kiddie section. They're just books!
I loved the Phillip Pullman series (didn't see the film - I like my imagination better than theirs). Eragon was great (unfortunately saw part of the movie, which was a dud in every way). Holly Black (who wrote some of the Spiderwick Chronicals books - I haven't read them) has done 3 YA modern fairy tale books. They're dark, gritty (especially the second book) and entertaining: Tithe, Valiant and Ironside.
