Jesse Helms leaves the planet.

While I share the opposite ideas and feelings about this person as well, I do not feel there is any particular reason to post of his passing. While it is your right as a contributor/editor to post said item it is my right as a reader/poster to voice my dissent. As a "Directory of Wonderful Things" I do not think that this posting will do anything but create a forum for hateful messages. I urge you in the recent light of other unpleasantness to consider the direction and effect of posts on a site that I believe is quite wonderful and enjoy on a regular basis. This did nothing but bring me sadness at what I feel is a post in fairly bad taste. Let us not respond to hate with hate.

Best pre-preemptive comment EVER. ;-) It has made me laugh for a good five minutes.

Microsoft: we listen to broadcasters, not customers

May 19, 2008 1:25pm

I guess I must be thinking of cable flags then, but still I see NBC as being just as, if not more, responsible. But becasue it's MS they're help as the ultimate evil. It's just a bias that I grow weary of.

Microsoft: we listen to broadcasters, not customers

May 19, 2008 12:51pm

I am no MS fan and a Mac user and multi-Tivo subscriber and I believe that Tivo follows the same broadcast flag programming. I know that I have had items that have been either not recorded or restrictions placed on items. But put the word Microsoft in the article instead of anyone else and it will raise the ire of any BB or /. reader to the point of frenzy.

Lazyweb: Bitmap to Vector?

Anyone in Austin want to laser etch theirs? We're setting up a new business and will be at SXSW this year. Sweet.
Check out the following link for a great selection...

"Brugo" Mug Cools Coffee One Sip at a Time

January 30, 2008 4:27pm

I got one a few years ago. They're okay but somewhat of a pain to drink out of. I also found it harder to clean that normal. Just get a decent thermal carafe and dole out small amounts. Or a decent thermal mug and drink carefully. No reason to sue over drinking hot coffee, oh wait....
I've appreciated my Nissan thermal mug much more than my Brugo.

Remember that time you lost a finger because you were too lazy to reach for the peeler. Yeah, that sucked.
I hope these stay as concepts and never see production.
