McCain staffer slams Dungeons and Dragons players

#88 you brought up what I was going to - and if memory serves, this is the third time that story has changed.
Not only that, but this time it sounded eerily familiar to what Solzhenitsyn wrote in The Gulag Archipelago.
SWAT team raids mayor, shoots family dog because someone mailed them pot
August 7, 2008 7:58am
I sincerely hope that all involved in this raid - at every level are shown the door and have criminal charges brought against them. This type of behavior needs to be taken care of now before they start breaking in and shooting more than just dogs.
This is a prime example of law enforcement over stepping their boundaries again. It happens far too often, especially in this day and age where we've had our rights and freedoms stripped away.
Obama's support for the FISA "compromise"
June 25, 2008 6:41am
What else is attached to this bill that Obama supports? Is it this particular issue he supports or other parts of it?
The thing we really need to change is the way bills are handled now. They need to make it so that only one thing can be on one bill - no more adding a million and one things to try to get something everyone knows is crap to pass, but then again neither party really wants that or they'd never make the lobbyists happy.
I don't like this bill, but it seems people are singling certain parts out to try and make Obama look as bad as the current administration when in fact he is not.
Shelby County, TN Sheriff: watch out for photographers and radical greens, they might be terrorists
April 29, 2008 9:05am
@41
Just because someone uses a photo for illicit means doesn't mean the entire country has to be harassed for taking a picture. Besides, if I wanted to blow up a bridge (which I don't) I wouldn't need photos for it. I can search for bridge construction and find all sorts of articles that would tell me the weak/strong points of a bridge. All I would need to do is identify what type of bridge it is, and I don't need a camera to do that.
The fact of the matter is that this is a power tripping fear mongering Sheriff that should be removed from office.
Shelby County, TN Sheriff: watch out for photographers and radical greens, they might be terrorists

I have to wonder about the mentality of interrogating everyone with a camera. Honestly, if someone is intelligent enough to slip into this country with the intent to do harm they don't really need a camera to scope out a site.
I am not a terrorist, but I have a pretty photographic memory. I could simply walk by something and take in a lot of details and go somewhere secluded and write down my thoughts or a rough sketch. It's not hard.
This is just stupidity and fear mongering.

#66,
Here's a suggestions for the whole darn country--today, engage in a friendly dialogue with someone who doesn't agree with you politically. Ask them questions. Find out why they feel what they feel. Don't judge. Share your story. You just might be surprised. (This goes for lefties AND righties.)
This is what I have been using with people lately and it's amazing the responses you get - I literally had a co-worker that could not give a reason as to why Obama was as bad choice. Not one reason. These are the types of people that the RNC gets worked up with the emails that are nothing but lies. My mother-in-law falls into the same boat - even when you present facts they can't see the forest for the trees thanks to all the Kool Aid they've drank over the last 10 years.
It's unbelievable to me that so many people fall to the fear, uncertainty, and doubt attacks in this country (USA). I'm amazed that so few actually question things - I've always questioned everything and want to know the why's of everything instead of taking things at face value. Sales people hate me because of that.
