Artist taking commissions to pay for spider bite treatment
July 21, 2008 4:05pm
The artist says he's been diganosed with celulitis... I can say for sure that big ol' oozing pus wounds can be a form of that. Celulitis is a bacterial infection that can result from a million different things, one being insect bites. A friend of mine has been diagnosed with it and she has dubbed one of the bigger wounds Helena after the volcano since it is raised and erupts.
As for the whole debate of being insured as to not being insured, insurance is expensive. If you've got it, chances are you are paying huge amounts to have it, or work for a company who provides a group plan. For those who don't have it, obviously you don't live in Massachusetts... We're required to have it otherwise we get fined when filing our taxes.
Video: Sony fan apoplectic over Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360

I could hardly concentrate on the rant when all I could watch was his oddly skinny almost alien-like fingers.
Boulder man faces $2000 fine/day for guerilla garden fencing
July 10, 2008 10:36pm
I'm agreeing about the trellis and fences coming down... I don't have issue with the garden but this little slice of land isn't his and he shouldn't be planting like it's his back yard. He should have kept it to low lying plants and things that didn't need propping up.
Devo sues McDonalds
June 29, 2008 2:15pm
Response to #33- "Yeah, do you have a point? They sold it.
It I sell somebody a pizza does that mean you can root through my fridge and take what you want because I'm not artistically pure in your mind?"
What does rooting through your fridge have to do with anything?
The point is, and obviously you didn't really pay attention to the quote, Jerry Casale said they don't like "herd mentality". Selling a song to promote a product for the herd to buy and allowing your music to be associated with a cleaning product is at odds with what part of their argument is about (even though he regrets the decision after the fact). Not to mention the Diet Coke commercial they were in. I don't care who they sue. I don't care about copyrights or trademarks or anything else when it comes down to this story. I don't really care about McDonalds or Devo. And I certainly don't care about artistic purity. I think these silly little toys would have gone virtually unnoticed and eventually end up in the nickle bin of a yard sale unless Devo, who is currently touring, decided to sue. Hypothetically speaking, if I got one in a happy meal I probably would go pick up some Devo music for nostalgia sake. But I don't eat at McDonalds and I don't have children so I don't see myself buying any Devo music.
Devo sues McDonalds
June 29, 2008 10:58am
Prior to the hat being a hat, wasn't it a planter years before Devo stuck them on their heads?
AND, if you go to the whole article... "Casale said it was ironic the world's largest fast food chain should appropriate the image of a band known for taking aim at the dysfunction and herd mentality of American society."
But didn't they sell their song for a Swiffer commercial?
Oh Devo, get over yourselves.
Anatomica heart necklace
June 6, 2008 7:33pm
I actually own one of these. They are very light, on the larger size, and certainly a show stopper. Every time I wear it people comment. The chain hangs so that the heart is basically right over my own. I paid way too much money for what it is but I love it. I bought mine in a tiny shop in Beverly, Massachusetts for double what the price is on the linked website.
