More on the Montauk Monster

August 1, 2008 9:33am

Obviously it's a dog, with the flesh and front teeth missing from the upper jaw. It's hard to believe that people can make such a big fuss over something so ordinary.

- Soon after the start of the Iraq war, he gave a speech in which he said that everyone who criticized the President for starting the war should be deported.

Edwin Land (inventor of the Polaroid camera) investigated this effect during his research into color vision. See "The Retinex Theory of Color Vision," Scientific American, Dec. 1977. Land's theory was that the brain uses cues from surroundings to maintain color constancy of objects.
