Wooster Collective: "Street Art At It's Best"

Awesome. I love finding stuff like this out and about. I take LOTS of pictures, but now I'll have to keep my eye out for more of this type of cleverness!

That game was *FUN*
The next version was 'meh' by comparison.
The tricky part about blindly going into those games is you have to realize there is an irc channel of fanboys (roughly 30-50 deep) that do nothing all day but those ARGs.
The sad truth is that unless you join them in the conquest you'll never fruitfully reach any prizes because the 'hive' will get there first.
Twice, I distinctly remember hitting the wiki for the contest (google: halo bruce) and having the answer posted to the wiki 10 minutes after the clue was dropped. Individuals didnt stand a chance.

I think it would be a good idea to make a jacket with those lights peppered all over. It would take more power, but thats just perfect for, say, making the back of the jacket a giant solar panel! :D

Wonderful.
Wanna hack the goverment?
Bring a usb stick to one of the kiosks. Make sure its a u3 drive so the machine recognizes it as a cdrom and can run autorun.inf.
Someone needs to show these cretins that security is more important than money when it comes to all the 'important shit' they intend to keep safe.

3ric from the defcon crowd would be proud.
He had his name legally changed to 3ric to screw with character input fields to show the government they need to be more careful. I've heard stories!

Some Flickr users wary of a MSFT takeover
February 4, 2008 10:00am
I saw the microsoft buyout buzz in the blagotubes and the first thing I thought of was my ~6300 some odd photos on flickr.
As far as I've read so far, there isnt any new news.. so I'm not sweating yet.
But the idea of Microsoft stepping and doing to flickr what they did to bungie? Fuck a bunch of that. If thats the plan, I'm backing up all my photos and either 1) moving to zooomr, or 2) building my own photo sharing app community :3
ETech 2008 conference schedule

I'll see you guys there :)
I'm talking to Gearfuse.com and Wired magazine to go as press.

I've also signed up to speak at a BoF about 'reality hacking' (modified version of the talk I gave at BarCamp San Diego 2)
Mass-produced gun as olde worlde heirloom
November 27, 2007 8:37am
Heh, That gun normally costs like 9-10 grand.
I'd flinch at the pricetag.
but that thing can accurately be described the same way the SMG was described by the halo developers after halo 2 came out.

People in cube farm get a kick out of it.
I wrote a shellscript that executed the command, and piped a random line from a txt file into it, and it would cycle sayings every 5 minutes.. matrix quotes, random stuff, internet pop culture stuff.. etc
Rule 34: Portal Edition

I absolutely agree. I got to play it through in ~2 hours at a friends house lastnight and I too was beaming.
*AWESOME* game.
If there was some way, some how, that I could take valve out for beers - I would do it. Flat out. I just wish that there was a way I could approach them that wouldn't make me look like a stereotypical otaku.
StupidFilter: Bayesian filtering for "stupidity"
October 11, 2007 12:35pm
Heh, anybody that has spend their fair share of time on irc can tell you that a majority of the occourences of 'LOL' are postfix or prefix for something inanely stupid - but this, unfortunately has only been my experience.

MIT student arrested for entering Boston airport with "fake bomb"
September 21, 2007 9:43am
I love it.
The folks at the airport clearly dont hold any kind of mastery for 1) the english language or 2) current events.
I understand they think by saying "Improvised electronic Device" they're trying to say IED - which means "Improvised EXPLOSIVE device"
Every time I read "improvised electronic device" I think of someone who drew a wiring schematic on a napkin.. "AH AH! IT LOOKS LIKE ELECTRONICS! IT MUST BE A BOMB!"
or someone who paints up some twigs to resemble capacitors and resistors and has some wires/vines leading into some dirt clods.

You'll need a few things
1) a router/bridge at home that allows for an external antenna
2) a router/bridge at work that allows for an antenna
3) antennas for each.
I'd suggest either two panels, or two 15 degree yagi antennas.
The whole setup should run a few hundred dollars, but You'll end up with a stable reliable connection at home.
Also, if done properly, you could simply use a wireless bridge, and not need internet at home - poach it from work!
