Thrill of looping: the latest ride of 1934

I totally feel like I missed part of my childhood experience because I never got to ride one of these things. I would ride by the temporary carnival site in my parent's car and drool at the ride but my parents always thought it was a bad idea or something. Then I stopped seeing them around and forgot all about them.
My memory is of ones that were counterbalanced with 2 cars swinging in opposite directions and the cab you ride in, on the end of the arm, ROTATED at the same time so you really got spun.
Now as an adult I would love to find one in a theme park to experience it. I presume they'd allow 40-year-olds in them. :-) Anyone happen to know where there is one in Northern California or at any theme park anywhere in the US?
Raid uncovers 10 Commandments of the Mafia

I, too, get a nasty taste in my mouth when I read the Patriot line of the Code, 10. And what about 9, respecting the 'nation's views' - that seems a hard one to define and if I interpret it with current events in mind I would say I cannot agree with that line of the Code either.
Anyhow, I might not know a whole lot about sports (thank god) but I DO know that a Cowboy IS NOT a Patriot. :-) Then again, organized sports occur for me like Bread and Circuses to distract, to control the masses and to subliminally and surpaliminally program a conservative psyche so...

In reply to #27, yes these are different breakthroughs but interestingly similar. Thank you for your post - it is what some commenters misinterpreted this article to mean: light absorption across a wide spectrum.
I have been expecting the nanotubes progress for a little while now, with my fingers crossed because of its likely application to make big strides in photovoltaic efficiency. Maybe we can skip dicey biofuels and their impact on food altogether if this moves fast enough.
Unfortunately, I recently read that nanotubes may be highly cancerous, like asbestos. Which makes sense to me when I imagine them in my minds eye.
