Wow, class, can we say, shades of "the mark of the beast?" or The Book of Revelations? or SciFi channel come to life . . . Logan's Run, anyone?

We really have too much time on our hands.

I agree with Daniel Morris' comments above. Evolution in action. Who's to say that we won't need those extra digits in the near future to offset something like the destruction of the world. Hmmm.

Miss S.C. Teen USA's geography pop quiz

August 30, 2007 1:03pm

What do you expect for a 17 or 18 year old girl? If she told the truth . . . “1 out of 5 American’s can’t recognize the U.S. on a map because (1) they don’t pay attention in class and why should they when silly people like Paris Hilton run Hollywood (not literally so please don’t make stupid comments about this) and we all know she barely made it out of High School. (2) The educational system in this country is shot to hell and frankly 1 out of 5 kids probably didn’t get a geography lesson (never less a geography class) in all the 13 years of schooling the US provided. (3) 25% of Americans don’t care, ’cause they aren’t traveling out of the US anyway — have you seen the statistics for how many US citizens have passports?

Now, if she had said all that (which is the TRUTH) do you think she would have had a chance of winning? They would have been totally upset if she sprouted the truth.

And then, you have to think how ironic, they probably asked the 1 out of 5 that can’t find the US on the map. And she can’t find it all because of the reasons stated above.

More on The Man who Burned The Man at Burning Man

Freedom is best served to the "individual." When it's just one guy rolling around naked, burning things in the middle of the desert -- well, that's creative freedom. When you have a whole mass of people . . . their must be rules and structure.

When are we going to get that through our collective thick-heads? I mean, this is a lesson we learned in the 60's and the 80's.

We can go rule-less, be free, let the wind blow through our heads when it's just US . . . alone . . .individual . . . one.

But because we are not a TELEPATHIC race, once you get in a group situation -- to make sure everyone can enough the freedom, the love, the whatever -- rules must be made or someone ends up on the wrong in the stick (and your man burns down).

I myself HATE rules . . . but I understand that because people can not get my HEAD or my HEART (and I can not do likewise as well), rules and communication are rudimentary tools for GROUPS of people.

As we can plainly see with this current event.

Jobs and Gates: battle of the nerd god hunks sitting on their desks

Steve was kind of cute when he had hair. If he would have had six-pack abs then "watch out."

Poor Bill (I can't believe I put the words "poor" and "Bill Gates" in one sentence), looks as dweeby as the character Micheal Anthony Hall played in Sixteen Candles, no matter what you do with him.

Miss South Carolina says we need more maps (video)

It is an unintended genius — at this very moment she is the most well-known MISS in the whole pageant. I mean do you know who actually WON this competition? No, but we DO know Miss South Carolina.

Dare I say that she IS Miss America? Just from the publicity she’s gotten, we would recognize her faster than the actually crowned girl.

And also, what do you expect for a 17 or 18 year old girl? If she told the truth . . . “1 out of 5 American’s can’t recognize the U.S. on a map because:
