Death of the D.C. Madam

In response to SISTER_Y; I seriously think there would be far fewer sexual assaults if prostitution were legal. Normally I'm a pretty conservative guy but this is one of those cases where I think a more liberal view would actually be benificial. It would be awful hard to control and regulate but if done properly it could be a real (pardon the phrase) release of unhealthy social pressures.

Did you read the rest of the police reports from that area? They're all nuts.

That's only one of the many tools from Greenlee that will do the trick. :)
Shelby County, TN Sheriff: watch out for photographers and radical greens, they might be terrorists
May 1, 2008 10:52am
I just listened to the call to the Sheriff and nothing he said there was unreasonable. Does it hurt to identify yourself to local law enforcement? People seem to confuse loss of civil liberties with civil responsibility. If what you are doing is not illegal then how does it hurt you to answer a few questions when Barney Fife approaches you? I suppose if you wanted to drive a moving van with art supplies in it into a parking garage for the courthouse you'd be offended if security wanted to look inside it. Even though that's the same delivery system used on the world trade center and the Oklahoma City bombings. Yes it may take a few minutes out of your day. Plan for it and be a responsible citizen of this country. If what you want to do is illegal and you don't think it should be then do it right and get the law changed via the democratic process. If you just feel like your being harrassed just wait until you have to wear a bhurka.

I applaud them for the forward thinking that went into this. as far as donating them what could be worse than pawning off a possibly defective product on someone that couldn't afford to have it fixed. hmmm along with the possible safety issues it raises, have you ever seen what brake fluid will do to vacuum lines?
Shelby County, TN Sheriff: watch out for photographers and radical greens, they might be terrorists
April 29, 2008 7:58am
There is a basic problem here. Terrorists do use photographs to plan their attacks. wouldn't you feel like a schmuck if you saw someone taking suspicious pictures of a bridge and a week later those photos were used to decide exactly where to place the explosives to cause the most death and mayham? It's sad we have to live a world where this even has to be a consideration, but it's the world we have. Use some common sense. If a police officer asks you what your doing taking a picture don't become confrontational. Yes some cops are dicks but for the most part they are underpaid civil servants trying to protect your sorry but. Show them some respect and who knows they may even stop taffic so you can get a vacation photo without getting run over for the trouble. I've had this happen.
Gun owners are the happiest people in the US
April 22, 2008 8:17am
I keep seeing references to correlation and causation. I got news for you, the people more likely to own a gun are also more likely to be self disciplined as well as disciplining their children. A disciplined, orderly life is more likely to provide you with the means to support yourself in a comfortable manner. Now I know wealth does not create happiness and I'm not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, but I have a decent house, my wife feeds me well, my children are well behaved for the most part (I bought them guns by the way and showed them how to use them.) and yes I'm happy. I'm not immune from depression or stress and yes I do go to the range and blow off a lot of steam from time to time. No, I do not imagine blowing some creep away. I do carry myself in a confident manner, I've been in some places where a white boy shouldn't go alone in and I'm sure because of the confidence I exude I was unmolested. Fear breeds victims. No fear, no victim. Criminals are bullies, bullies are proven to be cowards and are looking for someone they can bully easily. Don't give them that target. The little town in Georgia that requires every home to own a gun has seen a dramatic decrease in the crime rate. I guess I'd be happier too if I wasn't a victim of crime.
Any way short story long, correlation/causation it's a circle cause leads to effect leads to cause leads to effect. It's got more to do with the person not the gun itself.
HOWTO Stop the Little Rascals from riding on your bumper

I had an electronics instructor do this with his car alarm back in 1981. It was great until he sent a student out to get something from his car and he forgot it was on. LOL

In this age of terrorism it makes a little sense to take a few extra precautions. If you can't take a picture at the local Starbucks, Oh well.

If you think it's racist you must not have watched the video. The Principle was black.
The dress was clearly inappropriate for a 17 year old to wear to a high school prom. My son's prom was last week and I thought there were some inappropriatly dressed students (parents for that matter) that were wearing at least twice as much material as this young lady (I use the term loosely. My son wore a tailed tux his date wore a strapless gown that was still modest enough for an old foogey like me.
