However, I think trying to impose your own beliefs or feelings about transgender issues or sexuality, or to surmise that someone who is long dead must have believed something that you can't prove, is sort of ridiculous. I'm not saying it's impossible, but just because you want something to be true doesn't mean it is. And saying that we're all just "blind straight people" is highly suspect as well. I also am a big supporter of LGBT rights and awareness, and was one of the few guys in Women and Gender Studies classes in college. I'm not claiming to be an expert on the issues, but this seems to me to be another representation of something I often saw in the classroom: trying to make a LGBT issue out of every little thing, whether it realistically applies or not.

Yeah, it always irks me a bit when people say their online business "didn't cost ANYTHING!" Even if it only cost you $20, it's still not nothing.

P.S. I imagine if it was such common knowledge that the Mona Lisa WAS Leonardo's face, it probably would have been mentioned by the face expert.

From what I understand, that was proven to not be true, or at least is widely believed to not be the case. Check out the wikipedia article on it.

Anyway, it was probably scrapped by gypsies. There are lots of gypsies in that area of Europe, and it's pretty common for them to steal metal to sell as scrap. When I was in Bulgaria last Spring I heard lots of stories about it, including a war memorial that had been stripped in about two days after being erected, and many people died when they used to have regular blackouts because they would try to steal the copper wiring when the power came on, and were electrocuted when it came back on.

Otherwise, it's a pretty cool thing they did, and it's not that he's over enunciating, it just seems that way because of the way his mouth moves I think.

As an identical twin whose mother is an adoption researcher and support provider (no, I'm not adopted, but I've heard countless stories and read plenty of books about twins and adoption), I'd like to point out that stories like these are not as uncommon as you might think. Many of you have previously made this point, and I think that just because some guy on a blog came up with a couple not-so-well-thought-out ideas for why it might be an urban legend doesn't mean it is. I've met plenty of people, through my mother's work, who have had even more bizarre stories than this. Not to mention that in many cases of adoption, if there even are records, they are usually extremely difficult for a person to get, even if they have medical reasons to request them, and often are changed or filled in with incorrect information in the first place. These two people might not have even had copies of their birth certificates, or if they did they might have had incorrect info.
Perhaps that piece of precision engineering needs a bit more oil, or instead of "debunking" the story with speculation, he could do some good old-fashioned fact-checking. It really supports an argument better.

Now, I could be mistaken, but the report I heard on NPR said that they were in international waters. I only mention this because many people have been saying we were "in their [the Iranians] waters," and no one has mentioned that that might not be true.
