Sunspots don't cause global warming, people do

April 4, 2008 8:21am

It's SAFE to say I think we carry the blueprints to our destruction...

I also think it's never one reason. Life in general (counting the earth) is pretty resilient. Look at the honey bees dying off. It is not one reason. i.e. microwave towers, pollution, weather change, human intervention, etc. This singular blame thing is just an offset of our society.

“Hey shut up! American gladiators are dancing with the mediocre idols on the tonight Bush Nazi show!”

Replace GDP with something that reflects real quality of life

March 19, 2008 3:45pm

I think the only way to put a bullet in this problem is to simply acknowledge that (happiness) quality of life can never equal a number. If it does than your life lacks quality. ;)

RESIST remix of Balloon Tank

March 6, 2008 11:58am

Brillant... I can see a remix with a clown with a Kaiser Spike Helmet coming out the hatch. Except the spike will have to have a cork on it for obvious reasons.

Arizona students stage hug-a-thon to protest 2-second hug rule detentions

March 6, 2008 7:30am

I hope all their parents back them. The police state is getting redonkilous.
I really feel for the future of these kids that are being raised by the government while their parents are slaving for a middle class life style.

Lost Instruments: The Claviola

February 25, 2008 3:14pm

What is the instrument Ben Folds uses on some songs? Like on 'Smoke'?
From the looks of the Claviola, it seems to be very close to what he uses.

Egypt: broken undersea cable causes major 'net outage

January 31, 2008 8:56am

Yesterday Joel posted on BB Gadgets an article from 1930's Modern Mechanix dealing with the repair of transatlantic lines.

I wonder if it was coincidence? Then again I believe nothing is...

McDonald's can award A-levels in UK

January 31, 2008 8:07am

If you don't believe this follows the trend of dumbing the general populous down I am not sure what will change your mind.

This reminds of the vocational technical classes back in the states. They have a program called supermarket technologies where specially educated students (mentally challenged) learn how to count change and stack food on a shelf. I am not sure what's the difference between receiving an A-List at MacDonald's or the Vocational Degree in Supermarket Technologies?

Knock-Off Consoles Take Real Game Cartridges

January 10, 2008 8:33am

These systems are very important especially to those of us trying to reclaim some of these systems we might of broken or got rid of.

I have the original NES and everyone knows that dam spring loader system was just bad design. More moving parts, more problems.

I tried out this console and pretty much works with every game.

Guess what!? No blowing or stacking another game on top of it to keep it down.

Only problem is the increase of value of the catridges, take a look on Ebay. You will understand why I own 2 Mike Tyson Punchouts.
